:O Nice shot.
Geez Motts you could have entered this in a "What Is It?" contest, I'd have never guessed it was part of a piano. Great shot!
Remnants is right. What a fantastic shot.
oh that makes me so sad for the piano.
Wow...I never would have guess what this was!
I don't know what it is about it, but that's so cool!
This shot reminds me of the lyrics to a Tom Waits song.

"Your hair is like metal grass..."

Metal grass indeed. ^_^
makes you wonder about who played this to cheer up the patients and now time has take it away
I wonder what the very LAST song played on it was...............?
This one gives me the heeby jeebies. It reminds me of infected stitches.

And the line goes "Your hair is like MEADOW grass"
wow motts its amazing it really is but then again all of your shor=ts are amazing
Again, I will get tetnus just looking at it. My inner musician weeps for the lose of a piano.
Kinda looks like what's left after the Three Stooges played this piano.
definately a nice texture, its amazing what time can do to things
A better title would have been "Death of Music"

Was there much damage from the strings giving? Or was it not really evident? On modern piano's theres about 15-20 tonnes of tension in the strings! That could do a lot of damage when they snap.
perfection.
No lovely tunes comming from this today my friends.
Before I looked at the caption I tried to tap in to my "picture solving" skills, never guessed it was a piano, guessed my skills are lacking these days. Very interesting..
To think how this place only closed in the 90s.
That's funny: Metal Grass........Meadow Grass

:))
Is this THE STRING THEORY?????????
Ohhh looks like something from a scary movie...its gorgeous!!
i think it's a bit out of tune
Was this in the loop of bulidings, Mr. Motts?
It looks like rusted, protruding veins.
"Sing us a song, yo the piano man...Sing us a song tonight...well we're all in the mood for a melody...and you've got us feelin' alright"
several of the wards had a piano and a person from the womens institues used to come and olay for everyone, especially at christmas.
Looks like wallpaper
luv the place
luv the place
The only home I can think of that had a piano was Wills Home and one of the patients of the home was taught, as a child, by his Grandmother to play the piano. When he was in a good mood and if you asked him nicely he would play a few tunes for the patients and staff. They were happy days.
