Holy $#!^ do you know how much that tub is worth!!?? Jeebas remind me to go yoink that when i build my new place...
My grandma's old house was in an awful, awful area. She finally moved out, and the house was later firebombed. She left behind a beautiful claw-footed bathtub just like that.
I suggested to my dad, mostly joking, that we go snatch it back. His response:
"Umm...I dunno...There could be a cadaver in it by now, for all I know."
<3
I have always wanted a bear claw tub!!!
If I remember correctly, that's the bathtub from #65. I took many a bath in that tub when we lived there during the '80s.
Motts, next time your'e in NJ, check out Mary's Tower. It's a really strange looking home that a mentally ill woman lived in. Tons of creepy stuff in there. You should really check it out next time your'e in the area.
Helena, that sounds interesting? Have any pictures of it?
I love the cheerful tiling on the wall. Quite a contrast.
Those pictures on the wallpaper remind me of stenciling my mom did in the kitchen of a house we used to live in (especially that damn pineapple). Crazy.
I live in San Francisco. those tubs come standard with the high rents and old structures just a week ago we had a leak and they opened the wall which exposed copper pipes insulated with horsehair and decrepit newspaper dated 1921
Wonderful shot, with the striking contrast of red and yellow tones.
Which house was this in? My best friend and I went up there in June of 04 ( he lives about 15 mintues away from there) in the late afternoon. There were only 2 or 3 I believe and we saw a clawfoot tub on the 1st floor( took pics of it and us mugging around in/by it), but by that time, most of the floor was rotten and neither of us were suitably dressed for "suburban exploration".

Although somewhat small, they must have been nice and pictureque in their day. My friend said he thought they were company housing for Newark Watershed employees.

Once again, really evocative pic
That tub seems rather deep.
what is the light from?
Now, that guts deserve a bubble bath Mr. Motts!!!
I have a tub just like that in my bathroom, yeah, they're comfy and deep but the legs can fall off, the sort of just slide on.
Oh, I want it. Yep.
i need one of these tubs ive been looking for the past year closest ive come is one for 1500 bucks
Oh No! The tub has bad acne!
Whoo for Maglites. lol.

That tub is in really good condition.
My mother has that exact tub in her house. It's hella old. It's missing one of the feet though, and has been on a brick for over 20 years.
Those cast iron claw footed tubs are nice! I own one in my house, and grew up with one in my parents old house! They are wonderful, and they don't make them like that anymore!
cute!
That is quite creepy :p
Claw foot tubs fetch high dollars in salvage yards. You're looking at $1500.00 bucks sitting there.
I can't believe it, I'm looking at this same style wallpaper. It's ( unfortunately ) in our kitchen. It's also hideous.
