Weeping Walls

Weeping Walls

Condensate forming on the soot stained surfaces cascaded down the wall over time, leaving behind a beautiful blackened waterfall.

This looks like a shot straight out of a horror movie. I Love It!!
that's an incredible picture motts. like something from a dark fairytale.
Eerie. The sort of room I'd hate to be in alone.

Which of course, means it's my favourite in the gallery thus far.
Looks like a room from Silent Hill. Thats so COOL
Wow this is amazing and aptly titled too.
This may be my favorite
GREAT title!
I LIKED THE LAST ONE . THE ONE BEFORE THAT ONE I LOVED , THIS ONE IS AWESOME IT HAS SO MUCH DEPTH .
another great shot Motts ... and i've seen those little windows before :)
Once again Motts, you win the award for Best Titles!
Har, it looks like sedimentary rock!
This ones really creepy!
Another great pic mate!

Ive spent hours in this place but never seme to notice stuff like this
y'see every time ive been here its been dark and i miss things like this....i guess that why IM the rookie. :P youve shown me a new side to this place now MOtts.
Creepy! Reminds me of "Dark Water".
Motts, you have captured this room well. An extremely creepy shot! Might this make nice wallpaper?
this picture is fantastic. it looks like it is crying from the neglect it has received over the years with no one who cares. it amazes me how a picture can tell a story and so many peole can inturprit(spelling) what they see in it. giving the place a heart and a life. I love it.... again I only hope to have photos like yours someday Mr. Motts!
The walls are crying out in pain as it is being ripped apart by the mechanical jaws of Humanity

[slices wrists :-P]
Now that's creepy!
Looks like something taken from a nightmare.. Nice shot
how about the darkened blood of the souls trapped there.
they look like single brush strokes from an artist who is descending further into madness...
This is probably one of the most amazing shots I've seen, adn considering its you Mr motts, thats saying something. Amazing job, I love the patterns and the colors...its just fantastic!
I'm assuming this is a patient's room. Why are the wires to the electrical outlets not behind the wall? It would be so easy to tear the wire free and commit suicide.
Somebody contact Stephen King--I think he would love this sight.
awww poor walls i wonder what happend to make them so sad and blue...
totally creepy shot!
Great Picture Mott's !!!
What a great Pic!
As if the souls of the dead bled from the walls. Another top one...
'The walls bleed with the defecation of the insane mind'..

Great shot..
Ace picture! I'd love that effect in my room, maybe not with those colours though! Something a bit more cheery, like red on pink!
In the true sense of a building of this kind, it has been filled to the brim with people whose horrific minds and imaginations stain the very foundations on which it stands. Thus contaminating the structure and its grounds.

It comes as no surprise, when something that has been tortured for almost 100 years, abandoned and unloved, shows this kind of Dark Beauty.

A truly remarkable place, and no doubt filled with an unrelenting presence of those who once occupied it. Their restless souls, trapped in limbo, crying for release into some unknown, yet welcome paradise.
Perfect title for this shot.
In very old homes, electrical wiring was often run on the outside of the walls. First of all, today our construction is such cheap dry-wall, they have no problem running the electrical wires behind the walls; it's only studs and the rest is hollow. It was more difficult to run wiring behind walls that were pretty heavy "real" plaster and heavier construction.
The window looks inward
At the lonely weeping walls
The window looks outward
At the empty, endless halls
The silence hurts my ears
But cannot dispel my fears
As from the corner of an eye
The lack of substance does not lie
Ghostly shadows dart about
Please, won't someone let me out.
This smoke-darkened room may very well reflect the blackened, ravaged minds of the many lost and forlorn patients who resided here.

Absolutely gorgeous in its eerilness.
Twug~ You've captured the emotions this picture stirs up and put it into your words perfectly! : )
Thank-you so much, ladyhawke!
It needs a really big tissue and a pat on the shoulder!
Why does it look like there is a face in the window to the door?
Wow doesn't cover it. That's amazing. Nice capture.

It looks like the walls have been crying, so well named =]
I really like everyones comments.
Yes - I agree: CREEPY...
This is beautiful.it;s from something so obscure as a dream
Twug, did you make that up or is it from a book? Awesome mind you have MOTTS for the unique pic & Twug for the words of those who were unable to put their feelings into words! I am really hooked on going through the wonderful adventures Motts et al & letting us live vicariously thru you!. Many thanks
Very original piece I must say!
The wiring is in a fairy thick steel tube, so it would take a lot of effort to get the wires out of it.
doesn't stop the pikeys tho - this whole place is pretty much stripped. one of the admin buildings had the entrance hall full with lead stripped from the roof last time i went...
The converted & occupied warehouse next to where I work has a sign mentioning that all the lead flashing had been removed.

I guess this is to warn anyone thinking of stripping it.
The walls look as if they were bleeding a blue type of blood.

Looks kinda like a painting. I Like it.
Ooooh, that is so cool.
surly girl, what's a "pikey?" Is it a reference to scavengers in general or to those who steal materials for resale/reuse--or something else altogether?

I heard about a case here in the US where some guys went in a clearly marked ("danger," "private property," "no trespassing," blocked-up entrance) abandoned mine to hunt for copper or other materials that they could sell to a scrap metal recycler. Once inside, they got lost and were rescued after a two or three day search by the mining company and local fire departments, who searched at substantial risk to themselves. Now the wannabe thieves have sued the mining company, saying there was not adequate warning of the danger and the company should have taken more measures to prevent unauthorized entry. Do lawsuits like this happen in other parts of the world, or is this an American phenomenon?
Pikey is a term used, where i come from in Birmingham, England, for travellers/ gypsies who generally are thought of for scavenging but the term is used here generally for travellers/ vagrants.
the walls are sad ;=(
Again, if I may SIr -another one taken at Hellingly rather than Severalls? With that said, another brilliant shot -well captured with great colour tones! :o)

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
