While I am extremely sorry to see this gallery end, I am thrilled that you posted it. We have been waiting, and this was well worth the wait - thanks again! :-)
Well beyond worth the wait. Amazing, Thank you Motts
Thanks, Motts! Another spectacular gallery! :0)
As Always Motts Your A True Artist.

This Gallery and all of the others prove it.
The Lonely Plug that is needed no more.......

Motts thank you so much, fantastic work that was indeed well worth the wait!
why would someone break the whole thing and leave the chain and the plug ... humm . i guess it would be the first thing i would do .
Another great gallery, Motts! Very enjoyable!
I can't believe every time I see a new gallery you get better and better. I am so in love with all your work. It's so great.
Motts, i noticed the petty vandalism in some of these photos, but there seems to be a complete lack of graffiti. Was this typical in the UK?
these galleries are my passion <3
Incredible work Motts!
Some places had quite a bit of graffiti, I try to keep it out of the photos if it looks bad... but it wasn't much different than the USA.
such a shame to see this gallery end it was very interesting. Thanks Motts some great pictures there!
Excelllent gallery!

It seems that buildings in the Europe have less vandalism but decay faster-most likely due to weather conditions.
Very nice, Mr. Motts. Can we expect more galleries from Europe?
Thank-you, Motts! Was Hellingly one of the asylums they were to tear down? I heard that they were knocking them down as quickly as you vacated them!
Just beautiful, Motts!
Thank you so much for taking us with you and seeing it through your eyes! : )
Yes I have many more galleries from England and Belgium in the works.

Hellingly has not begun the process of renovation / demolition as of yet. Severalls, the next asylum I will be posting, was in the midst of demolition
Rock.
awesome gallery Motts! i just wish i could find places that good round here :P
Great work as always. Thank you.
Hmm... Must have been some powerful bathroom cleaner to do that...

Great Gallery Mr. Motts!
This is wonderful I wish I could do stuff like that but there is'nt much in Miisouri.
Thanks Motts worth the wait
Beautifull.
Super great stuff ! I can't wait to see more ! Thank You MOTTS !!!

Thank you SOOOOO much, Motts!!!
its taking a stand for what it belives in or at least thats what it tlooks like
AND THANK YOU MOTTS FOR A BEAUTIFUL GALLERY I LOVED IT ITS NOW ONE OF MY FAVRIOTS!!!
Awww...I dont know why but thats the word(s)/Sound(s)that came to mind.

This is such a cool picture. Just everything, number two or three on my list.
Thank You Mr. Motts, for it all,you have such extraordinary talent !
As always, sad to see a gallery end. Cannot wait to hear of your exploits into the next one. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!
the photos are great like always Motts, but after seing it over and over ... i felt it was lacking something ... i figured it out ... its the sadness and the human side that its present on the other galleries, its like the place knew you where there taking photos and hide all the emotions. it feels empty of emotions .
I give you the proverbial "pat on the back". This was a very thought provoking gallery. It is wonderful to see someone talented enough to shoot pictures that capture more then what meets the normal eye. Not only do you "see a cake" but you also "see the pattern in the frosting" too!
Thanks for another great gallery!
well... add another listing on my favorites drop down menu. :) your work is amazing. I am now headed to see every thing I can here.
suuuppppeeeeeeeeer !!
fucking amazing <3 x
funny title coupled with the pic.
Totally fantastic gallery!
Fantastic gallery Motts, now I just have to get my wife to massage the crick in my neck. Seriously, I really enjoyed the slanted perspectives from this gallery, it shows that you are still growing artistically... even though many of us thought you were at the peak of your skills, you continue to awe us with your stiking pictures.
Great job. Thanks for taking the time to share your work with us.
thank you for sharing your talent with us all and capturing the history of a hospital that will one day soon be turned into another fantastically overpriced glitzy set of apartments and houses for LOTSA AND LOTS OF MONEY!

how is it the nhs in england moans it has NO money when they have SLUNG OUT HUNDREDS of patients and closed all these places, and sold the land set in hundreds of acres and the buildings themselves for MANY MILLIONS???
Can anyone tell me?
Trust me the stae didn't make a whole lot of money on the deal. What the state did do was dodge the massive asbestos abatement bill
Motts I had the pleasure of visiting this place but your photo's are excellent. You're an extremely accomplished photographer.
Very talented!
Motts I was just wondering if there is any abondon places around kansas I can't seem to find any
Brilliant photo`s.....I might just walk the mile and go see the old place in a different light....J is dead right but big ED sadly wrong .....it`s all part of the 80`s Greed that has gripped this country...we`re decaying as a Nation
I just discovered your site resently and I'm realy enjoying it. They smashed to sink to take the brass fixtures. Its much easier then unscrewing them
These photos are really good. You do your work very good. In Spain there are more enthusiastics of this things.
just today I read that the re development is to start in the Autumn / Fall ...about time too. will the locals be able to afford an appartment/ house there?
I enjoyed looking at the pics & reading your comments, I also like photography but that wasn't the reason I stumbled across this site, I was searching the area as I just bought a house next to the hospital which the NHS sold in 1988. One of the comments by big Ed mentioning asbestos worried me a bit, have I missed something there and does any of you live locally who can give an insight about the area/development, I am hoping to move in this June07.
Sir, you are the Best!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, Sarra.....don`t worry about the asbestos.....worry about the secure unit that still operates @ the North end of the site!!!.......I`m a local
Thanks Juicy Fruit appreciate some local knowledge, has anything happened recently?
Someone named Jason Senders signed the guestbook on April 30th saying they have started tearing the buildings down for new houses.
No, there`s been no probs for ages ....but one night a couple of years ago .........a guy was running up the road outside our house@ 3 in the morning .........next day he`s in the news, escaped , and made his way up North before they caught him!.....but I reckon nothing will stop houses going for silly money in Sussex..Tho` they may be good sized appartments when it`s all finished eventually
Hope we made the right decision on the long run. I am fascinated by the history surrounding this area and enjoyed very much all the photos and the comments, wish I had a chance to take a glimpse inside before it is all over.
Hi, Sarra....you`ll be allright, there`s more out than in nowadays with care in the community.lol in fact there`s a LOT more on the loose in Hastings. I think you`ll get a better idea of the place from these remarkable photo`s....even when it was up+ running it had a certain air of sadness about it...apart from the Social Club, and that had an air of drunkenness about it lol.
that one funky looking sink, can you buy them in b&Q like that or are they one off's
They are special ones that can only be broken/removed by BIG Indians, who use them to break windows and escape.
Another awesome set Mr. Motts.

Sincere thanks for bringing it to all of us.
So if thats the sink, than what happened to the soap dispenser? You're galleries are amazing, I wish there were still places around Pittsburgh to go explore.
voll hart! hab jezz schon schiss
I love the two soap dispensers on the walls behind! What a great breathtaking gallery! Just like all of them beforehand! <3
Soap dispensers? I think that was the wall fittings for the sink!
