The Hall

The Hall

It appeared that there had been a few arson attempts here, but luckily they failed to spread considerably.

Wow! I think I recognize this from Alias' pix as well! This must have been spectacular when it was first built.
i guess you can tell the diference from european buildings by the type of " finishing" used in the ceilings and walls ... similar purpose divisions or buildings in US are much more simple. or maybe its just me ...
What's that hanging from the ceiling?
Looks like maybe the remnants of chandeliers Navi, not positive though.

Motts the ceiling and window architecture in this one are gorgeous.
Wow, such beautiful architecture going to waste. Wonder what it looked like in its heyday?
I just happened upon your site and the architechture does give you a sence of awe ~ art at its best!! The pictures & display of them are perfect. Thank you for letting me in to see....we in the US could learn well from them....dp
Beautiful picture! Are all the ceiling lights gone?
The vaulted ceilings are impressive and in it's hayday it had some archetectual wonder to it all . I just couldn't pick it up. Give me some esthetic input. Must keep my indentity intact. This is Johnny Mac not Jmack. Don't want to confuse the pesonalities. I don't want start to sign my name in as elgar stupendo.
why would a bunch of morons want to set fire to this. They dont make them like this anymore.
BEAUTIFUL STAGE!!
The colors are amazing, between the roof and floor, and just everything. It's a good thing those arson attempts failed. I can envision a lively dance going on, or perhaps a big lecture for the doctors or whatever. =)
Wow! I love the colours in this, and the structure is really neat. I'm loving the ceiling and the stage (yes? no?)
Such a grand room. It's a wonder that the room survived so well. Just think of the unfourtunate (Insane) souls that spent their time in that room...sends a shiver down your spine.
Looks a bit like an auditorium with a little stage.
it dident look like that when i was a guest theirs
i live near hear and me and my friends have been in this place its really scary there was a grey woman in the padded cell
it looks like a place people should be danceing
Great photo motts love the arches
BEAUTIFUL room! who in their right mind would try and burn this down...?
I am an ex patient of this series of buildings. I find the state of decay and neglect more terrifying than the events experienced by me when under section there. I was given a debilitating course of drug treatment and three sessions of ECT during my internment, so you get the idea. I am more than delighted to correspond with anybody interested in my stay there.
yours,
Gram
Why do people like to try and burn wonderful old buildings.
it is great fun going up the strairs by the stage, as they have been badly burnt and its a long way to the bottom
Eeep ... that looks exactly like my school's hall.
How odd to think that maybe one day it could end up like this ...
Hi,iv liven ruff a few times in the hall its not to bad but wen use to hear noises it really use to scare me,its a shame to here its beeing knocked down but hay iv had some good times there with my julie many thanks Fready
this ballroom bears a remarkable resemblance to the one in whittingham hospital in england, very very similar design despite being a continent apart!!!
Beautiful room, at one time and even now.
its so nice to walk around that hall, as when you walk around the other sites, so asshole has set fire to the hall and it is no more
Ahhh, the hall looks amazing. I went there with my brother on January 6th, 2008.. To have a look around the site. I found it spectacular but most of all the hall was just immense, to stand in and take in all that I was seeing. I got so many images running through my head when I stepped in there, I was overwhelmed.
lokks like a bingo hall
nice pic motts !!!!!
is this the one that has been reportedly burnt down today!? if so :(
Once again insect-like - the candelabras look like big black iron spiders hanging in their webs *brrr*
