Scrabble

Scrabble

Thousands of scrabble-like game pieces were strewn all over... many of them had two letters, such as "ee" and "ou".

Did they make them there or what?
Dipthongs!
I love Scrabble! Although, I wouldn't touch these. Hahaha
wow thats a lot of scrabble things wonder why there are so many.
Maybe they bought the game in bulk.
Jazzdigs, I thought you were calling one of us names until I remembered all my English stuff from a century ago! 8`-)
'ee' and 'ou' remind me of phonics, I suppose there's a version of Scrabble that used such tiles. I remember an old Seasme Street version of Scrabble that had similar pieces, though they were made of cardboard, these appear to be wooden or plastic.
I'd like to buy a ... er.. a..
hell.. give me a white square.
WHEN I LOOK AT THIS REAL QUICK IT LOOK LIKE THE COPS RAIDED A DRUG DEN
You could sell these on eBay like the buttons you almost got. ee and ou -- that's weird! I guess it is a form of Scrabble. How would you know about a drug den, Mr. ALLCAPS?
*ROFLMAO* "Mr Allcaps"....
My guess is this room was where the speech and language pathologist worked and these were items used to help students understand certain phonetic sounds and then matching the sound with the "dipthongs!" (fox trot)
They probably used these as a game. possibly to match the sound to the pic, you know simple stuff like that...... pic of cow and the sound "ou" idk...
I guess I'm slightly out of it. Would someone please explain to me what ROFLMAO means. Thanks
Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off.
Thanks -- and great pic, bye the way!
Since I haven't visited for quite some time I decided to go ahead and post. I very much like the shot... very unusual. Although that's not what caught my attention. It was the comment by Tom Tom... who seems to think that we are all very blind either that or he is very angry about the fact that the scrabble tiles strewn about reminded him of a drug raid. Anywho.. nice shot Motts. Have a nice day everyone.
nice shout amy, nail, hit, head,you,the,on........sense at last
Motts....did you make some rude words from them?...i bet you did!....well....i would have.
Probably a "teaching" game. It would just be killing me not to be able to take along some "souviners".
A bit off-topic, but those would make cute earings.
Amazing. Simply amazing how so many people use up space by making comments with useless info. Thank you Amy for making an interesting comment. The rest of you just need to exchange email addys so you can blast away with silliness.
Thank you for your on-going concerns. If there are problems with people posting inappropriately, Administration will be happy to handle it.
luv it.

Did u see any playing boards at all?
I tried to look up the history of scrabble, but no mention of EE or OO or OU.......Maybe it was that particular place's addition to the normal game.
I would luv a box of asst. ones, omg, make a tributary mosiac out of them, oh what a thing to look at and mull over at all the hands that must have touched them. Wonder if fingerprint powder might pick up some, LOL, just fer giggles :D
You sure that isnt OY ? Looking at it now, it almost looks like oy in the middle. It had to have been a learning tool, for reading, spelling, phonics, or just plain communicating.
you ought to sell me those tiles.
Those don't look like letters on the tiles. Maybe just because the picture isn't full-size or something.......they look more like random symbols.
I hope the janitor was fired for leaving this mess!
no, they are letters on the tiles

if you look carefuly, you can make out some of them
such as 'th' 'oo' 'ch' 'l' and i think one might just have a punctuation mark on it [ ' ]
My son is attending a one-one teaching school where they use these tiles. They are used in the LIPs or Lindamood Bell learning program. The tiles are part of the "vowel circle".
Scrabble Heaven! At least for "ee" and "ou!"
you can make alot of words i guess lol :O
I remember seeing tiles like that in speech therapy, I had a wicked lisp.
They are in fact used to sound out certain words and/ or phrases.
So, who will set up the game? =D
I would have grabbed a handful of those and then my next game of Scrabble with someone, snuck them in. Would love to see their face when I put a few of those tiles down on the board HAHA
they're phonetic tiles, used to help chilgren understand sounds by matching them with words that use that sound.
or they are putting together product like they do in modern day workshops .
The tiles are, without a doubt, used to teach impaired children how to speak and read. The LIndamood Phonemic Sequencing (LIPS) uses the EXACT SAME tiles. She charges $600.00 for a 2 day seminar and has done quite well for herself. It would be very interesting to know if one of her relatives was a resident or perhaps taught at this institution. It would be very interesting to know where this institution is located. Any hints?
Whoaaaa that is a LOT of tiles. :)

I need to buy a vowel...or...a few vowels...heck just give em all to me!

:) LOVE this shot!
they might have been trying to learn some sort of french or chinese
Id love a set of tiles like this
