I would guess it's an air conditioner or ventilation since the place still had the old radiators.

It's just folded up

I would say that it's just resting beside it. Seems to be alot of extraneous aparatuses left behind here as well as in Belchertown.

Wouldn't people still need their wheelchairs for wherever they went next? Maybe these all needed repairs of some kind and just piled up as the place began to shut down.

Yup I am seeing HVAC up there, it hasnt changed much over the years, am on occaision ripping that stuff out. I only wish it was at half a cool a place as this but then I wouldnt want to tear it out!!! What a catch 22
