If only those walls could talk.....
Not sure what the colours of tile on the floor are, but the first thing that comes to mind is "rainbow floor".
... they would say "Please don't tear us down! No more walmarts!" ;)
The floor was a rainbow of browns... pretty fugly stuff!
"Browns"???? Blech!
A question of my own curiosity. Why did the Met. have angled corners and NoHo state had rounded corners? Anyone?
haha, I was thinking rainbow floor too.
Johnny Mac - I've seen rounded corners almost always in Kirkbride buildings, which are all pretty much pre-1900 era structures and were built with aesthetics and beauty in mind. Vaulted ceilings and rounded corners are more expensive to make, and I'm sure the state was pressed to build these places quickly and cheaply during the 20's and 30's to alleviate overcrowding.
P.S. Looka! Whoaaa!!!! Pix of Danvers from the 1940s!

Ethereal beauty, like the 'carnival' scene in Apocalypse Now. This is one of my favorites (thus far).
Lynne!! As usual, thank you for great links!

Pa Backy, you GOTTA check out some of the old cars in there.....
I studied the cars closely and those pics were taken in 1949 or 1950. There is one car that I need to photoshop the pic for positive ID.
this is deffently a intresting photo
Does anyone else think that the photo in Lynne's Danvers link, with the older woman sitting alone at a desk labeled "Membership Enrollment" is hilarious?
No.
it would have been awesome if the floors were rainbow. ):
I wonder if people who live here now have ever seen these pictures...
I wonder what those walls would have to say.
its funny, i keep looking for a "like" button lol

Question: Is the color of the sky blue or green?
