Ornamental

Ornamental

The seats left on the mezzanine were more detailed than I thought they would be, having metal supports with wood backs and arm rests.

Genius composition.
Look just below the center window. I see a happy face!!
Its the WALMART SMILIE!!!
Motts those windows a pretty cool, too....kind of symmetrical with the seat row sides from this angle...
Dang, I love those seats!
Absolutey more artistry, something to get a hold of.
OMG I WANT THESE CHAIRS! I will restore all of them for free!!!
that is very, very cool! i dont think ive liked seating so much before!
What's strange is that during the five years I worked at BSS, no one ever used the mezzanine seating. It was considered a safety risk. I do recall reading somewhere that in its much earlier days, BSS had events open to the entire town- perhaps they used this seating back then.
So, isabeats, you're saying those chairs were abandoned long before the place was? :)
Yeah; a lot of the people at BSS were disabled, unsteady on their feet, impulsive, unaware of danger, etc. In one of the photos here you see a view up to the meazzine and you can see how little protection there was from falling over the edge. Anytime I was there, the mezzanine was off-limits.
Tony C. beat me to it. When I saw that smilie I thought "Walmart is already eyeballing the place for a new store".
Ooooooo! 8- 0 Pretty!
Beautiful contrast between decay and the clean and clear contours of the seats! Great perspective too!
This pic reminds me of the Phantom of The Opera o.O

Very kool ^^
YOU GUYS HAVE SAID IT ALL! BUT I DO JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT THOSE ARE FAB SEATS! FAB!!!!
the junior high where I last taught had exactly those seats.
My friend just noticed these are in the theater building at Kings Park Psychiatric, and indeed they are... I guess they were a popular brand!
Brings back memories of the old theaters. Just let them sit and rot; what a shame.
The smilie way in the background... awesome.
Notice to the left of the smilely face, it says "SUCKA". And appears to be various other tags on the walls off to the right side of the pic.
Again, lovely work, Mr. Motts. The seats are similar to many I remember from charming old theatres.
I love this shot! The only thing I can complain about is not your fault at all. It's the grafitti in the background that takes away from the look. Why can't people leave these sorts of places alone?
Keep up the awsome work!!
anybody notice those wires there? i wonder what those were for
Ah, the good old days with the ushers and the flashlights. (boy, am I telling my age or what?)
These seats have beautiful detail, but don't look too comfortable. Not a lot of leg room for the tall folks, though since this was a school, that probably didn't matter much...
I just love this picture.
God the detail of all the old stuff is so awsome . they really dont make them the way they used to.
Wow. That reminds me of the theatre at my elementry school...

(Except it was in slightly better condition...)
I just noticed the spray painted images in the backround of this picture. I hate kids who do stuff like that to the buildingssss!
Who ever tagged the walls had guts
If you ever seen the old state school at night it sceamed PHYSCO
i love how it says SUCKA on the wall .

and i love the intricate details of the chairs .
amazing .
