Wow, for some reason this shot gives me vertigo.
what happend to the elevator?
If the world ever goes crooked, we could walk on the walls.
the elivator is at the top look you can see the bottom of it.
When lifts are abandoned the car is taken to to the bottom of the shaft, propped from underneath, then the cable is cut to engage the safety brakes & make sure it doesn't move.
I'm guessing that this is done to stop the possibility of the cable snapping years later sending the lift crashing to the bottom of the shaft, the safety system might have seized up in that time.
thats gonna come crashing down someday whats building is this in ?
Building 93, I believe.
Are looking up or down? The world may never know. Motts could take this to his grave!
it looks like the lights in the elevator shaft are working. did this building have working electricity when you took this shot ?
No, the light is from the sun beaming through the elevator doors.
I once worked there and this looks like bldg. 93 . however if it is then the Car can't be all the way to the top as Bldg 93 had many more floors. However for the last 15 years or so that the Bldg. was in operation only the first 5 floors could be used. This was because it was thought to be unsafe as the building was sinking little by little.
this is amazing but looks shitty sry tom
