Oh I love the spots of bright light in this one!
yes the colors here are fantastic! that's one looooong view.
I love the narrow balconies. I've never seen another theater with long balconies going down the side of the room before. Must be kind of hard to see the stage from up there.
It had the spiritual composition of an airplane hangar. Something missing in this pic. It not the observer, it's the thing.
Anyone notice that two parts of the ceiling are resting in nice piles on the floor?
the floor its amazing ...
Yep! Fortunate that the roof is held up with steel trusses. If they had been wood there likely would be FAR larger holes than what we see currently.
My clearest memory of this room is seeing a local rock band, the Blue Max, playing a dance here, while people with big, happy smiles on their faces, kept banging into my legs with their wheelchairs, all in tune to the music !
What a great memory! We still have monthly dances (sometimes more) where I work and the folks just love it!
looks like a scene from "ESCAPE FROM NY!!!
This looks like a former swimming pool. Turn of the century Gymnasiums had these upper balconies inside. Maybe bad fill is why the floor is so unstable.
its a british victorian prison....how could you keep fragile kiddys in here man..
did any-one notice the weird white thing up there? it looks sorta like a badly drawn back drop and yes i agree the lighting is fantastic in this
I think that they cleaned up nice.it looks beautiful
Lots of water damage to the floor.
ewh .
the tiles look so gross .
It doesn't look like this anymore, it's in horrible decay. Between weather damage and vandalism, it's now got massive holes in the ceiling and due to snow and rain, the floor is now covered in about 3 inches of solid ice.
I remember going into one of the buildings a long time ago with my sister, as we both love exploring abandoned structures... no longer standing I presume?
I went to the BSS grounds today just to walk around and explore a little..... did not realize how many buildings were actually here! A lot of feelings ran through me, but I was not creeped out in the least.. I found myself wondering what really went on here, and why. I wanted to chance going in some of the buildings, but decided that it was probably not a good idea..... so I observed from the outside instead.. I plan on making a couple more trips to the grounds, as I feel ther is still much more to see!
its amazing that it looks nothing like this anymore, i wish i could have seen it before it go so bad
now if you go in the cieling is falling apart. and there's pools of water everywhere. its not as pretty.
I love how the whole pic is slightly askew.
Are those .. tiles? o_0
there's a nice indoor garden up on the mezzanine now right to ur left, do to the hole in the roof
