Collapse

This small section suffered structural damage but the rest of the place was in good shape.

Looks like a considerably large foot of a giant came down on it.
OUCH! That hurt...
I would hate to have been standing near when THAT fell!!
This is what my living room looked like after the 1986 World Series.
love a room with an airy feel to it
I bet the contractor who built that place did some work on my house too... lol
Wow, I love the chunks of intact roof laying there. And the perspective on this is awesome, for some reason it reminds me a bit of a decrepit roller coaster, just the way some of the planks fell look like a track...
This is what makes me so sad about these beautiful historic places -- their eventual demise.
kinf of beautiful, though, to watch nature slowly reclaim...
As went that section, so will go the rest of the joint, even if it takes another thirty years. Sad isn't it.

And Danny...LMFAO!!
ahaha Danny yes! only for me it was the 2003 ALCS.
I wonder why that one part fell down so fast when it was built the same as the rest of the building.
sad but true most will go the way the old Mountain Sanitarium in NJ went demolished.....if any of these places are in a local area to any of you check into getting them listed as historical markers...that will prevent them from slipping into the past ...these hospitals have a wonderufl history and most of it affected the locale
I still don't inderstand why they just "walk away" and let these buildings just sit there and deteriorate. Then when someone wants to try to save them, it costs a fortune because they were let go for too long. So they can't afford it so---tear them down!
What a shame... If only there were more efforts into the perservation of these buildings as opposed to simply letting them rot away slowly... but, alas, then there would be no awesome ventures into abandoned state hospitals for those willing to explore. I suppose it is somewhat like a double-edged sword in that sense, eh?
Heheh.... That's what my barn will look like when it collapses.....
Firewood.
