Man, this is still in great shape . . . .
That's velcro, Motts?
Yup
That's how new this piece is, Jude, that it has velcro on it. They don't usually leave behind equipment this new and in this good a shape. I am thinking about all the folks who could use good adaptive equipment like this and can't afford it or don't have the right insurance.
Well I wonder what would it take to get all of this equipment to those who need it?? This is such a huge waste and there are so many who need it.
If the stuff was here in ATL, I know how to get it to folks that could use it. If it was let loose, that is. Looks like lots of it is still usable. Even that one device for tortu.. oops, (cover nose from Lynne), I mean, stander.
these pieces of equipment look bloody uncomfortable....i dread to think what the less modern equipment looks like
They are actually fairly comfortable. All new staff are supposed to sit in or try on each piece of equipment to see what it's like and get a little empathy for the person who uses it. I found the sidelyers surprisingly comfortable and I would never have thought it by looking at them. Since many people who use this equipment are verbal, you can get very quick feedback on how comfortable it is. There are also a lot of physiological signs that can clue you in quickly if the equipment is not comfortable.

Wasting equipment like this? This must be NC.
think of the poor cow who was killed to make that leather.
Looks like vinyl to me, think of all the Naugahydes that were killed to make those straps
If they tear these buildings down, will they remove anything salvageable that MAYBE could be of use to someone else? MAYBE?
I love strange looking medical equipment!
"I have to go now Clarissa, I'm having an old friend for dinner". I'm sorry, I KNOW it says "hip straps" but my first thought at seeing this was that thing they had on Hannibal Lecter's mug in Silence of the Lambs.
lol, but ah... isn't it Clarice? :D
Ha ha! your'e right, it is Clarice, boy do I feel dumb right now! Good catch Liz, thanks!
My poor menopausal brain, what can I say?
Okay this looks like some SM equipment... It could be me.. Does anyone agree?
make a tobacco pouch out of it
i have cp and can not afford a stander and it makes my sick to see all this just sitting there. You got people that really could use it.
