The first person who calls this a torture device is going to get punched in the nose by moi.
You tell 'em, Lynnie!! :-)

In the midst of all these medically correct supporters, I spot what looks to be a coffee maker up on the top shelf?
Very good observation about the coffee pot. But what was this used for? Maybe for someone with back problems? Interesting!!
Nah... Although, I did used to have something similar to that, specifically built for torture! :D Yes Jude, that coffee maker is ALSO a piece of necessary medical equipment!
Whats something so kinky as that doing in a hospital?
Hopefully they donate this stuff to the hospitals who need them.
Hate to tell you folks, but that's the device that Hannibal Lector was wheeled around on. Sorry to torture you!
The Mr. Coffee is probably the MOST important piece of equiptment in the room ;)
coffee dispenser, i thought it was a soap dispenser
Actually, I just finished a book on Christopher Reeve and he talks about using one of these. They have to raise you gradually or you'll get light-headed from your blood pressure. Just like was just mentioned, he saud it was a relief to actually "stand" again.
It may be a medical device but I can think of a hundred naughty things to do with it. >;-P
Are you one of Dr. Sketch's friends, dear girl? ;-)
Oh Cristina you sound really fun;)
MY STEP DAUGHTER HAD A STANDER BECAUSE SHE HAD CONGENITAL HEART FAILURE AND SHE HAD SEIZURES AND BECAUSE OF THESE THINGS SHE WAS A LITTLE BEHIND IN THE PHYSICAL DEPT. THE DR. SAID SHE WOULDN'T WALK TILL SHE WAS FIVE WELL THANX TO PHYSICAL THERAPY AND THE STANDER AS WELL AS HER CHAIR FOR PROPER POSTURE SHE WAS RUNNING BY 3
I'm not calling it a torture device, Lynne, but it looks like that thing from the movie Hannibal
Wow, I dunno why but I get such a lonely feeling when I'm lookin at this picture.

Like.. I'm trying to imagine what it would feel if you have to use one of these. every day of your lifetime. Think about school. Nobody would play with you. You just stand all alone every day.

I know, feeling moody today :D

Btw, didn't they roll Hannibal Lecter all around in one of those?
This device reminds me of the scene in the film "Silence of the Lambs" when they had to move Hannibal Lecture and met the Mother of the kidnapped daughter.

Signed: An American Soldier in Germany.
"Hello Clairice.." Mmhm. Peat Moss beat me to it.. he had the creepay face mask as well, though.
Hey Lynne? It's a torture device. XD
even though its meant to help it still cannot be very comfortable ecspecially for someone with a bad back such as my myself
I once knew someone who had MS and she would stand in one of these for two hours out of a day...not sure what for, but most of the time she would use a power chair to get around.
Part deck chair part engine hoist.
hey, Scottbaker.eu, i greatly dislike you at this moment in time. WHY would you not let ME be the first to say that? anywho... let me be the next!!

lynneeeeee ITS A TORTURE DEVICE. I SHALL PUT YOU ON IT AND TORTURE YOU WITH THE COFEEMAKER!!! muahahaha *runs away*
you knows whats funny? (i keep saying this) but i'm a painter, and i noticed the old "aqua-glo" paint can. i'm pretty sure thats a mid-eighties label. it's benjamin moores premium semi-gloss finish at the time. (i know! useless info) lol
on a close up, the label should say 333-01, or 333- 70 or something. (333 meaning the finish and a 2-digit number meaning the ready-mixed color)

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
