Above the Entrance

Above the Entrance

This is the main entrance extension roof. I had to take this shot out of a window because the door was locked or welded, I can't remember. One of my favorite shots though.

thats incredable
it's calm but i also feel frightened, when i look at it. i love it!
i adore this picture!
makes me want to look for the drain, and unplug it.
I love how such a huge building has such a small main entrance. My sliding glass door would have made a better one than that.
How deep is that water?!
It couldn't have been more than an inch or two...
Oh!! It looks like somebody built the poolhouse IN the pool!
i've heard it is actually possible to unplug some of the drains and i've heard of it being done but it always ends up plugged again, whether naturally or by someone.
This is just insane.
to bad its impossible to get in there now, all the windows on the first floor are welded shut and the tunnels are bricked shut.
wow so uh whos up for a little ice fishing?
Sweet!
Wow, Amazing!
I don't know what to say except 'winter in the soul from all of our lives'.
Sadly water makes decay happen a lot faster, I wish that three was a way to slow the process down. While I love to see nature do it's thing, it is always sad when a place like this finally falls.
Gorgeous! But it also looks frightening as well, since it, to me, represents the end of the world.
It looks like all the brick layers beneath the roof are darker as if recently under water.

But that doesn't seem possible given the much lower height of the surrounding outer walls. If those bricks are actually that saturated with water I'll bet you could pretty much knock that whole thing down with one well placed sissy kick.
This is an interesting shot. The water gives it this cold look.
I wish I could ice-skate... <=(
it looks like a house or mosoleum sunk into a pond or something
ack, me too! I was the handyman for a sorority for many years, and one of my jobs was keeping the drains clear on the flat roof sections. It's an ongoing battle. They always clog again, and the results can easily be catastrophic.
Love this one!!
when the building closed the state should have hired a caretaker for each building to keep the mantence up on them.
this is a amazeing picture i'm thinking wallpaper
idk why they never added any gutters or something for the water to drain
nice pool
Such a beautiful pic, such a shame to see such an extraoridinary place go to waste.
what areas are safe to explore on the psychiatric hospitals ground i want to do a project on the place and i want to check out so neat things like what they did there and destroy all those weird rumors like what is a good building to visit thats safe and has cool things to check out and what wings to aviod
looks like the place is under water
Yep! a great winter shot that speaks volumes!
is that ice? i think it is. wow great shot just amazing
