Fabulous! Great composition, superb lighting!
Before I read the caption, I thought they were trees. My first thought was "Wow, they got trees growing in there" (LOL)
Love the contrast of the lights and their shadows on the wall.
This shot is disturbing yet appealing, it looks like a lot of patients having their say about being there. Looks like they are yelling........at something...
Soap dispensers of the world: unite! (Sorry Motts)
Lynne, totally agree with you...absolutely beautiful! I love the shadows on the wall as compared to the lights themselves!
Motts, I gotta say, that is one cool shot!!! That lighting caught my eye first, too.
Secondly, my thought was....Those lights are having a PARTY.....and LOOK....They're doing a PIRATE dance!!!
Yes, this is a group of "party lamps", which is where the expression "getting lit" comes from, I think.

Funny, I think I was wearing one of those as a jaunty derby last week by the time I downed my second Wiki Waki Woo. Least, that's what it looks like in the pictures that showed up on my doorstep last week accompanied by a note asking for blackmail money . . . . .

=8-o
Very cool shot! It's the shadows that make this one I think too.

Poor Lynne... hope you don't let them blackmail you hon. Just let them share your nekkid butt with the world, who cares right? Certainly not Dr.Sketch!!
Well, funny thing - I think *HE'S* in the pix too, but it was sorta difficult to figure out just what was happening in 'em. Too many body parts and mechanical devices in the way and all. What's worse, I'm actually afraid I may have been the one who took them myownself, but the evening was a tad fuzzy about that particular section of time.

I just don't know where that blackmail note came from...

Hmmmm . . . . mebbe I did end up drinking a third Wiki Waki Woo. :-(
Sounds like you might have! Oh, geeze! That will be me next year! ;0)
They remind me of the flock of Canada geese that hang out at the track where it take my morning walk. They all pop their heads up when I go by.
Nifty shot, the lights remind me of that People PC commercial With the stick figures.
OK......wiki waki woo? What goes in that? I want some too!! I just have to pass on the electrical equipment.... :P
Yes, Lynne do share the receipe...
That's all fine and dandy people, but don't forget Lynne's a professional and she can handle this stuff!

.....well, maybe she can't..... LOL
I am guessing it something along the lines of a Long Island Iced Tea that tastes all sweet and sicky, like a laced soda pop, but actually just consists of 3 or 4 shots of liquor. It was pink, had a swell umbrella, and a little blue plastic sword was shoved through a cherry and a slice of orange. Does that help at all? ;-)
Sounds extremely tropical, Lynne...What say we all get together with these lamps out on that porch of this tropical-looking building, and have a few of those there drinky's..... :-P
So, Lynnie...you possibly had 3 of a drink that contains 3 or 4 shots in it?!?! Geeze! No wonder you don't remember the blackmail pictures and such! I would have been gone by one and a half! LOL! :0)
Awesome picture. The shadows do make it.
When looking at this picture it reminds me of them being extremely large microphones, or a super large lollipop.
No, I only had two - I knew my limits - kinda sorta. I'm 5' 1", so three woulda been too much. However, ye olde spousal unit was driving, so I was able to relax and unwind a tad. Still have the little umbrella and sword - reached in my purse for a writing implement at a meeting yesterday and stabbed my finger with the sword, though, so the drink had its revenge several times over. 8`-)

Yes, Truckie, the idea of standing microphones crossed my mind as well.
Ok...good! LoL! Those lil umbrellas are so fun! Gotta love 'em! LoL! Is your finger ok? I would have died laughing if I were in that meeting and it had been me who had her finger stabbed by a tiny sword! LoL! :0)
OK, my question, besides party favors, what would a hospital use this type, and so many of, this type of light? I hope the answer isn't to obvious.
NO! It's the invasion vessels of the interstellar squirrels lined up in formation.
:: Gasp :: It's .... it's ... it's the Florescent Grey Plaid Munchkins!!! RUN!!!!
Very nice!

First thought that popped into my head, though, was "Mexican Sombreros"!
Mr. Mott's - i have heard alot of this hospital, i'd love to know how in the world did you get into the hospital? i have heard there are No stairs to the basment.... what else is in the basment?
Posting entry details is not allowed on this site, but there are stairs to the basement. There was a bunch of medical equipment and other assorted furniture stored in the basement.
They're gossiping about the ceiling fixtures.
they look like old sunlamps that they used sometimes on TB patients...wild guess tho :) either that or the bookworms are hiding down there at night reading books they shouldnt :P
seems like they are asking each other, "How are we going to get out of here?!?!"
are those lamps 4 feet tall? or is it all an illusion?
I want one of those lights for my living room!!! I would refurbish it of course...I wonder if I can still get those bulbs anywhere....
the shot is great but whats up with the weird shaped light bulbs??
I want some of those lamps !

I'm not for stealing, but I wonder if one of the lamps would work if you took it and plugged it in at your place.
It's a waiting area for lamps trying out to be the Disney/Pixar lamp that jumps around. They were all too tall. They went with a desktop 'Model' :-) Sorry. Couldn't resist.
It is hard to go there and not leave with something ...
Gah those poor people. They used those to simulate sunlight when people couldn't go outside, it was said to help cure them. Such a horrible thing.
i really like this one.
You always find the coolest stuff in the basement. Love this site. I spend hours lurking it's pages in total fascination. Motts, you are a modern artist. The camera is your canvas & brush.
