You might be able to find books about treating psychological disorders in certain eras, although I would imagine there are a myriad of different disorders and treatments to look through.
Patient records are probably managed by the Connecticut State Department of Mental Health, who would be able to help you more than I can: www.dmhas.state.ct.us
Have you ever been caught?
Thanks, Devon.
And I would love for her to come into this site, however, she will not comment. She would love Motts photos, that is for sure!
early 80's.They would release people from here
without them having anywhere to go.They would
walk to the city of Norwich, and the people in Norwich would be VERY unhappy.I think that had a major bearing on the place closing.I lived in the CITY of Norwich from 1962 to 2001.
great work.... =)

I hope your able to get more awesome pictures. I would love to Mass Mental in boston.
My sister had a temp job there when she was in college and said that
she would be typing when all the sudden she would hear screams or pounds noises on the walls. Freaked her out!!
Please, do tell. I am most intrigued....
It's truly a shame that the same people who complain about paying taxes will be the first to dial 9-1-1 and complain about homeless people talking to themselves or causing a disturbance or killing a loved one when problem could have been prevented in the first place.
These "freed" patients are suffering more now than those who were "prisoners" in the mental health systems darkest days.
(Also, what happened with the guys who was arrested for trying to start a fire there? and what of the "copper mining"... as it was referred to by some of my friends... the stealing of the copper piping in the tunnels for sale? any word on who was doing that? I've been so sheltered lately and haven't heard anything)
Durring your stay did it feal very haunted anywhere in there? also did you ever hear about Pearl And Nell Marley? they were said to be the worst ever recorded that pearl was a demented spirit that would torture nell and they did a weird ice pick thing on Nell. did you ever see her padded cell or any padded cells? and is it worth while going there for a tour
Motts says "I do not believe in ghosts."
