Ole Bird From New York

Ole Bird From New York

Brushing away the layer of paint in one of the rooms revealed writings and drawings from a patient who seemed to have gotten ahold of a pencil or similar item.

WOW!!!! I can see they painted over it. Another moment frozen in time forever. I wonder how old this is.
That's awesome! I'm so glad you found that! Beautiful composition, Motts!
You paint and scrub to hide my pen

But the outhouse poet has struck again

Ole Bird ;)
Wow...just wow. Such a neat find.
Fabulous, Motts!
THAT IS TRULY AMAZING TO SEE (JUST A BIT) INTO A PATIENTS MIND.
I must ask motts, did you brush off any more paint chips to reveal any more things?
Imagine all the other things that you didn't discover... which still lie there untouched and unseen
Ple-Bird
from New York (???)
We grazed a knife over some of the paint to see what was underneath, where we found the rabbit and some other words and designs.
Probably "Apple-bird" from New York, Motts didn't scrape off enough paint

You know, from the Big Apple
Take care scraping. Probably lead-based paint!
Oh yeah, dangerous stuff, but what a spectacular find.
that's some heavy-duty lead paint...awk!
Quite interesting... love the mystery of the unknown.. who wrote it, why and when... spooky!
where the paint is scraped off looks like a mans outline, the face and shoulders, like youwould be looking at him frome the side. thats what i think
truley amazing Motts
mistery...

something I will newer forget/////
Just wow..... I wonder what's behind all that paint? That's just a little bit =o
The lead paint, unlike asbestos, ain't gonna hurt you unless you eat it. Just wash up good after handling it. Not good to powersand and get into the air where you'll breathe it either.
Maybe this has already been said but i didn't have time to read all the comments but I deffently would of taken the paint away till i could read the hole thing lol
i remember when i wrote that the horid meories of that place the torture you went threw the friends that where just misunderstood or abused. the inicence taken from us why
Should have taken another pic with all the paint pulled away!
Oh my goodness that is wonderful.
This is incredible...it's like at the Ellis Island Museum. Maybe Motts can get into the old Sanitatium before they fix it up. That is like one of my ultimate dreams....to walk through an abandoned place like Motts does. Just simply incredible.
the drawing underneath looks like an arm...
it sort of reminds me of a drawing a saw of a police officer by a formerly imprisoned person...
could it perhaps be a drawing of one of the guards?
it doesn't look much like a bird to me... maybe it was a reference to some slang word, whose meaning has been long forgotten?
amazing. where are they (the artist) now?
