Cruddy shot but I thought it was interesting... it looked like the meter above recorded the controlled temperature for the showers.

I love this shot, Motts. It shows how not everything in this old building is peeling and decrepit. You went in there with your scrub brush and cleanser, didn't you?

I wonder if the Maxon company that made that control has any connection with the company called Maxon that makes distortion pedals for guitars...... interesting, at least to a guitar player like myself.

It is creepy to me that people have sadistic ideas like this all on their own and then assume that all staff will have similar ideas and then actually carry those ideas out.

this state of the art item is a gas control valve station/regulator. it allowed the attendant to turn up or down gas fired burners that heated domestic shower water through the use of a heat exchanger. this process though much improved, is used worldwide today

That graph meter did record the temp of the showers, as recent as 20 years ago similar dial graphs, ( the circular graph paper is removed for documentation. same system was
used on hospital autoclaves to document insturment sterilization, in this case im sure it was for patient safety.
