A perfect society...perfect place...perfect in it's moral aspects...an idealistic scheme for social and political reform. I love your title!
This must have been one attractive, shiny, futuristic-looking place when it first opened. The architecture is marvelous.
I'm sure it was! I would've been in awe upon seeing it when it was new (even though I'm in awe now...)!
Oh me too. And like Lynne I love the architecture of this building.
Another awsome view of the big chest.
(406pm) Enormous....the room, that is...Notice the vast steel latticework in the ceiling? Looks very intricate...Are those vents in the ceiling that open? Looks that way...?
WOW I REALLY LOVE THE CEILING IN THAT PLACE. ( ALSO IM NOT COMMENTING ON ALL OF THE PICS JUST A FEW, JUST TO LET YA GUYS KNOW!)
Looks like a set for one of those After-the-world-has-ended movies. Amazing.
The noise in this place must have been extremely loud.
I dunno about if its an utopia for anyone really.. rather kinda rusty and depressing environments. ;)
Utopia = big metal breasts?

I seem to remember an old old old silent movie portraying the future where all of the workers worked and lived underground and the elite classes lived above ground and partied and stuff. This picture reminds me of this. It was kind of a spooky film especially when the underground started to flood. This could be "after the flood".
This building is a master piece. and built in time where the build was a piece of art and symbol of power.
I love it thanks Motts for these awsome photos
This is so beautiful just think if it was working again....siiiiiggh
this picture is so pretty
@reddll: you mean Metropolis (1927) http://en.wikipedia.or...ki/Metropolis_(film)
This movie crossed my mind as well already ;-)
MOLOCH! (if you don't know what I mean, go, watch the movie, I think there's a version with English subs out there as well (the original text is German) however, I like the dream-scene about the 7 deadly sins and the grim reaper way better "Der Tod ist über der Stadt -- !") But I digress... anyhow, a movie worth having seen I'd say. :-)
