I just happened to be browsing the Internet in search for NSH history, saw this pic expose'. Loved it, cause I used to walk the grounds, looking through some of the ground floor windows. Could almost feel the lonliness and despair of the past residents. Now I live on the west coast of California and since MA is a part of my history(a better part, I might add!!) I just felt it to be right to search a part of History. THANKYOU!!!

My Mother and Father both worked here from 1931 to 1961- and actually lived on the grounds below ther hospital (on Earl st). Looking at these photos sends chills up my spine. Haunting! My dad was the head farmer, and my mom work ed as a supervisor to the nursing staff.....
