It's a bit blurry, but these were little side tunnels that ran parallel to the main ones, and had tracks, presumably for laundry carts.

Only upstairs in the main portions Tonya, I can guarantee they didn't house anyone in the tunnels.

No one live in the tunnels, not after they got there anyway...
