The way the picture has been set up, it could be mistaken for the most random black hole ever.
Its so interesting and sad to think that, even if this place wasn't being demolished, no one will ever reach those cabinets again.
Now that is some big-time structural failure. I hope even you didn't think of getting too close...
DANG, I love this shot! :-)
Wow, some parts of Dixmont are pristine, and some parts like this one are so decayed, quite the contrast.
This really reminds me of a previous recent photo you took Motts where there were no floors left and a sink and cabinet hanging onto the wall for all they were worth.
I saw this room yesterday. It was cool to see (safely from the doorway, of course). What was even more cool was looking at this scene in the room below it.
I'd label this picture...Natures Revenge...You see that greenery creeping in through the window as if its there to slash the throat or urban sprawl and take back whats rightfully belinging to the trees...
ok..Was a long night shift at work..but the picture speaks...I listen ;-)
Holy crap!
Andy, I agree with you. I think that is so incredible!!!! : - 0 it made my eyes pop out of my head. ; - )
I think I'd call it "Urban Ruin Quicksand" One step in the wrong place and U are sucked in.
I very much enjoy viewing the photos of historic buildings. It makes me sad that these beautiful majestic building are not being used today, it almost seems wasteful. I would like to see these incredible buildings be used again perhaps not as Asylums, but for other means. It is horible that people were cruel the mentally challanged. However I do belive the world itself is cruel and these people need refuge...not abuse and mistreatment that once plagued them, but locations of growth away from the cruelty of the world itself.
OMG! i would of so totalyy jus ran in the room and fallen through! i dont watch my step
