The lone chair, awaiting a spectral visitor.
Chairs always seem to make good shots. They always seem lonely too.
Well the set wouldn't be complete without one...
Motts, you mentioned something about a movie here. Was there?
Yeah I think it was a small college film, and Ford filmed a truck commercial on the property in the 1990's.
Dang! My spouse can repair furniture. I'd give my eye teeth to have that chair! Good thing I am not near enough to Pittsburgh to be tempted to drive up there and break my oath never to take anything from a facility! :-)
Lynne, dear, had I known there was a chair there that you would have wanted, I could have gotten it in August when I was up there. But, then again, being the extreme coward that I am, by the time I would have worked up the nerve to get it, Wal Mart would already have been built!
I have so much guilt about stuff like that, I prolly would have sneaked back and returned it, so it's just as well. But thanks, honey!
Wait, did you say "eye teeth"?
Yeppers, Ron:

eye tooth
(noun)
1. A canine tooth.
Idiom: give one's eye teeth for something
To go to any lengths to obtain it.
Lonesome looking thing.....
Why would just that one board break? I picture someone standing on it, or jumping off of it. If it was just from sitting, the middles would've all broke.
Looks to me like two or three broke.
beni, you haven't seen some of our butts (lucky for you, too). :-(
Hi, this is my first post, but I must say I had to comment on this one. I think is it a Charles Limbert Chair, although I cannot be sure without seeing it in person. I can only imagine what that chair has seen since it was manufactured. How sad it has been forgotten. Thank you Motts for saving its place in history.
I think I remember seeing that chair still there yesterday, but it was turned on it's side. As for it's mysterious condition, anything is possible since over the past 21 years of the building's abandonment scores of kids have been going to the building to party, drink, do drugs, and who knows what else.
my brother && his friends ALWAYS go up there! they even got footage of some foggy image && it looked like an old man with glasses!
