Glad I wasn't behind that when it went over. It looks like a movie set but I bet it's a good deal more solid. Looks like someone had a nice little office at the end of that corridor once. Talk about a room with a view...
Is that the entire doorway laying on the floor?
I LOVE this picture!
At first glance, I thought they were coffins, then I saw they were doors.
Em, I think it's the entire wall partition that fell over.
Yes, Lynn you are correct.
Nice shot!
Oh my, I love this shot! Beautiful windows, greenery, nice view....
Cleaned up, in a nicer neighborhood, in a not-so-creepy-house, with a little more paint and a little less cold - it might make a nice bedroom. ^_^
Hey, Chey, you also might have to clean up some water and fire damage. The old girl was on fire this morning. Amanda's Mom told us.
That's horrible!!!!! What happened?
Not sure yet, but my guess would be arson...and that's just a guess at this time. There's so little left to burn, it's hard to imagine that it was a lightning strike. We'll try to find out somehow.
Please do. I would really appreciate it.

I can believe that it happened,.......... but it's just terrible.
I'll let you know if I hear any more. Right now I have to take my daughter to visit a friend in the hospital. Will let you know if there is anything more on the news tonight.
AM we will wait impatiently.
That partition is still laying there just like it is in the photo. I was standing on it yesterday trying to figure out where it once stood.
I must add, though, that the 4th floor is very badly damaged now from the fire and water. I couldn't look around up there very much because the floors were very weak and I didn't want to risk falling through.
Hey, any news on that fire?
Are you referring to the one about 2 weeks ago that burned the old white house security used? If that is the one, yes it was arson.
Yes I believe that is the one I was refering to. Thanks for the update.
Hey Chey,
Check out the site www.nbfd.us to see the pics of that fire and pics of the other two recent ones (one in reed hall and in the gym) Check it out!!also check out the new dixmont site www.dixmont.info!!
This is a nice view
Amazing shot, it is beautifully compositioned.
I love the Palladian windows -- also those crazy trees growing out of the roof. I don't know what kind of trees they are, but you see them all over Washington, D.C.
I find it hard to believe that when this partition had taken its toll and fell back, it didn't take any paint off of the side walls... Amazes me.
I noticed that same thing Dan..and it also missed the light still on the ceiling...and from teh looks of the wall on the left it wasnt installed to far from were the light was
Ya know, that wall needed to go anyway. Looks much better now. Where is the cleanup crew?
Agreed with Nevermore. If that wall was up those two side windows would've been covered.
Have there been any spooky ghost sightings at Dixonstate Hospital?
i think it was a ghost that got mad
