DAMN, they look steep!
As klutzy as I am, I can see myself at the bottom of these puppies, and it ain't a pretty mental sight.
Oh child, we'd rush down and pick you up, give you a tetanus shot, and get you to an asbestos clinic if that happened. :-)
Awwww, gee thanks, Lynne! : )
Asbestos clinic, Lynne? Gee I hope I don't fall! Those steps do look steeper than usual, yikes.
NAAAASSTYYYY....I still might go down....
Oh boy! Tony is going down! Nice!
So long as I don't end up needing a tetanus shot...
Nope, totally clean!
All the buildings are filled with stairs like this. I remember waiting at the foor of stairs just like this holding my mothers hand waiting for my brother to come down. Strange how thease memories enter my mind, some of them are wonderfull, others I would rather not have.
Check out what appears to be the face of an old man with beard in the debris to the left of the 2nd step going down ...
rudysdad, if you look closely, thats not the only face you see.
Just ooooone little push....
Damn those stairs are a bit dizzying. I'd probably fall down them steps.
I don't know if it's because of the camera angle you chose or what, but this staircase looks very steep. I'd grab onto the railing and hold tight, even if I wasn't planning on walking down the stairs.
Twug, if you hed indeed fell down those very steep steps, after getting your shot, they could just leave you in one of the many rooms of the the hospital, with it's many huanting spirits to keep you company.
It really would never happen. I'm too much of a chicken to go in any buildings like that. I went into an abandoned house once, and it was a disturbing experience. I let Motts go in the buildings and I look at his wonderful pics.
i agree with you there, about the abndoned houses being disturbing, just by your self and the floors creaking like mad....
sorry for double posting, but i see the old mans face, but the only other face i see is near the bottem left, it looks like somekind of dog or a bear
man i would love to see the ghost hunters investigate this place tobad part of it is getting torn down for condos oh well---
Yea, oh well, another piece of history bites the dust.
there is a lot of dust in there
Oh my gosh! It's like the stairs into the deep, nasty, mildewey, dungeony hole of the black finger-eating monster. . .
yes that piece of debri does look like an old mans face. how strange!
Maybe it really is an old man' s face, hey you never know.
gives me vetrigo.and look to the
2nd step
zippi i totally agree!!!
wow I can Not belive these pic. as a kid in 1983-86 we would hand around there and try to scared on another. you did a great job with the pic. thank you still to this day it scares me.
this is an awesome pic.totally creepy to think about how many ghosts might have wandered them in the last 100 years.
The DSH was'nt around for a 100 years i dont think. was it?
My Mistake, I just realized the Danvers State hospital has been around that long.
1874. i thought it said 1974. sorry bout that!.
I really like this shot. Good job Motts.
i'll fall down to nothing. when mold dead faces are piled..
A thought just hit me, the "old man's face" looks like it could be a page from a magazine, book, or mabey the remains of a photograph. I do belive that ghosts do exist, but I have never seen a pic of a ghost where the face looked so sharp and lifelike. That's the only thing I can think of.
