Breath-taking! I won't ask how you got up there to take this pic. ;-)
Are there bats in the belfry?
Just in mine. :-)
Little brown bats, vampire bats, flying foxes., baseball bats...what kind, Lynne!
Vampire, natch!
That is a fantastically Gothic shot.
I wouldn't doubt that bats actually do reside here, not vampire bats ofcourse.
Yep, bats are in my belfry too. I'm completely batty. ;o)
The articulate detail behind every portion of this building always stuns me again and again.
It's just a house... geez.

No I just kid.
Moden hospitals are so ugly they could
never rebuild something so grand
And they are tearing some of it down while we speak......*sigh*
Ohh look how pretty the spire looks. Great photograph!
it'll be sad the day when avalon bay tears the spires off, and that won't be that far in the future.
I was there yesterday and that spire was on the ground.
I couldn't stop staring at it, it's so beautiful.
I wanted to go inside Kirikbridge so badly.
Old ladies where driving back and forth on the road. they looked so sad. I'm sure that loads of people are going up there now to get a last look.
I took loads of pictures of what I could. The spire ment a lot to me and your pictures will stand the test of time.
Sara, thanks for the information. What a shame that they are destroying everything. To have such beautiful architecture lying in the dust makes me very sad, indeed.
what is inside those spires? ventilation?
They arent actually destroying the spires. They are selling them off for a few thousand a piece.
This picture almost takes my breath away. Too bad it probably isn't there anymore.
that shot rules how did you get it
It was possible by standing on the roof of the cafeteria / theater.
These buildings are so beautiful it's hard to imagine what terrible things that went on inside these walls
Funny and wonderful things went on in there too. It was not unrelenting horror
So, more like a relenting or intermittent horror? ;-)
Kinda, even de Sade took a vacation every now and then.
cool only a few thousand? ima put one in my backyard, which will then cease to be my back yard and will become... my spire. From its peak i shall remain ever vigilant, and justice shall return to the streets of Gotham...
So much workmanship & artistry went into this building. Beautiful architecture not seen today.
