amazing shot. I love the angles
Another "Top Ten" shot! These incredible windows!
Sweet!
beautiful shot, just beautiful
Awesome shot! Oh and just look at all that wood floor...you can see the knots in the wood and everything. And all this beautiful wood will just be destroyed??? It breaks my heart!
What exactly where these upper rooms used for? I can't imagine patients staying here, but storage hardly seems right with the windows and such?
This was in administration, so it would probably have been an office.
you know how to shoot them good job. I would love to be there in person. I love that kind of stuff.
Isn't that, that window that got posted on that website? That, that, that, that, that,................THAT!! (used waaaaaaay too many times) :-I
Looking at the windows makes me wonder if anyone ever jumped? It is mesmerizing. scary and beautiful at the same time
Don't know about this particular place, but yes, people have frequently jumped or tried to jump out of upper floor windows at institutional facilities - hence all the bars and mesh wire that people dislike so much.
OUTSTANDING PICTURE!
I love the Archetecture. BEAUTIFUL
Wow. From the tumbnail, it looked as though this were some sort of architectural person; the angles of the walls form the shoulders, and the windows are eyes.
if your office was in this room what a view to have. motts were there any lightning rods on that roof it seems like there should have been
If you look waaay up at the top -- interesting place for a soap dispenser -- can't be a light fixture -- can it!
The angle of this shot is great. It feels like either your running or being rushed toward the window and about to explode from it... or that it's a window you are trying to run to, but like an never ending hallway it moves further and further away... If you stare at it for a little bit, carefully... you'll notice it almost seems to stretch and bend... like a funhouse mirror.
This shot makes me dizzy.. I love it.
Oh! Think of all the work that must've gone into building this place, all the time & energy & even creativity. It just makes me sick, I tell you!
I can remember the old attic when I was a kid. The steps were real steep and had a sharp curve to them at the bottom. You could see all the open beans in the ceiling and the walls. And the roof had a very sharp pitch to it that you had to duck your head at some places. As a kid, I used to be scared to go up there.
Sorry, I meant beams. : )
you have changed my life for the better. I am infinitely inspired.
What Angels?
I don't get how this is a cathedril
Try googling "cathedral" under images, but make sure to use Motts' spelling.
yha but i am really bad at spelling sorry cathedral
I love the color of the pictures. Very aniqued and faded. It really brings out the beauty of the picture.
a very beautiful, but creepy room. You just don't see architecture like that these days!
I would love to live in a room like this - just a single, huge room with that ceiling. Well, not in a mental institution, but you know what I mean... It's a shame there's no alternative to demolition when magical old buildings are left to rot.
dreams in the witch house?
Under the right window does any one see a cross? Probably isn't - just the wood from the window that has fallen onto the floor. Looks cool though.
