God, this is a fabulous shot!
It is so haunting. I could easily get misty-eyed thinking this place could be gone soon. And for what? Condos? Apartments?
TWUG, I AM NOT HAPPY TO SAY THAT CONDOS OR APARTMENTS WOULD BE BETTER THAN DEMOLITION.
I'd rather see it left the way it is, let nature re-claim it!!
I can see it now, "Kirkbride Condominiums at Danvers", none of the yuppies would get the significance
There should be an 11th. Commandment....."thou shalt not destroy beautiful old buildings".....
Jude... I agree... ;-)_
Thank you Ed. :o)
and the day this is gone;

i will cry millions of tears.

talk about a sad story.
totally agreeable to the no demolition of old buildings comment. i love old buildings and it is a shame to see them destroyed for things such as condos and malls! ugh
Let's hold on to some of our historic past. Future generations need to see with their eyes, not look in pages of a book. This is a remarkable piece of history we need to hold on to.
Simply a FANTASTIC shot.
this would be one I would display on my wall.....
these are some amazing pictures. the whole building has such a feeling of gothicism. its a shame they'll be tearing most of it down soon....
I want to confess my sins to this picture.
It does look like the building is listening. It look like it's straining to hear.
granite was cultvated locally.
Oh, Motts. I know I am not alone in being eternally grateful that this amazing structure was preserved in photography through your talented work. You are unspeakably gifted.

Will you be my friend?? ;-)
