Wow! Fascinating shot.
I concurr with Lynne. It's almost as if you're looking down and forward at the same time.
Oh crap that makes me dizzy sitting here looking at it, it's so high up!
That is some very freaky perspective...
I think they make the halls that long on purpose. It would give anyone chills.
Good Photograph
the perspective on this shot is amazing- it would be interesting to try with different lenses- (i.e. fisheye, wide angle especially)
Shhhhh
I can't believe how intact this building is. It looks like it could still be up and running.
its in abetter state then our british prisons stillopen
Makes you wonder if it was punishment isolation or protective isolation. An open railing, no mesh on the third (?) tier - not a walkway where guards would be fighting to get an inmate into a cell, one thinks.
Nice place to spend isolation.
I've been up there. Its a very long fall and unnerving walking that tier.
This was the West Block, higher security inmates were housed in this block. If my memory is correct I believe there were 56 cells in this block, 7 cells per tier x 8 tiers.
Makes me want to run.........to get to the other side!
My fear of heights would have kept me from working there - and would probably have made me insane as an inmate.
this is west block..(pc and high profile inmates)
West bloc.
I worked there many many years and it did have it'e moments, the railings were protected by mesh screenings to avoid jumpers and stuff thrown over the sides.West block was used mainly for pre trial inmates and the main block for sentenced inmates. There were 25 cells per tier 4 tiers on each side totalling 200 cells but we could get over 250 inmates in rhere
The Lamps are still there! Metal shades. Really like them, too. Good picture. Looks long and endless - nice perspective.

Question: What is the last letter of the word "hospital"?
