I would assume so - maybe the concept of "bread and water"? No one is allowed to keep a piece of wire like this in lock-up.

Yum Lol the bread would had slowly deteriorated and gone mouldy .And same with the cup .Some one has gone there and put it up or a ghost has done it

bread doesn't always go mouldy.If the air is dry, and not danp,the bread will be preserved, but it would not be edible of course!

The toast was obviously institutionalized and couldn't handle being set free so it talked its friend 'the cup" into a double suicide.
