Graveyard

Graveyard

The tracks swung to the left; it looks like corpses would spring up from behind the mesh.

Where's my video tape of "Night Of The Living Dead"? (LOL)
I wonder if the mesh was to keep the park patrons out, or the corpses in? =)
That would be spooky if you were a kid!
"when there's no more room in hell..........."
Hell, Jude, I'm not a kid and it'd be spooky for me now. Something about zombies just .... ugh. Don't like 'em; nope, nope, nope. I will watch a horror film about any creature BUT zombies and not get a chill. Throw in a couple of brain-munchers though? I'm freaked and it's doomed to be nightmares all night.
Oh. My. Heck.
I love this. The lighting, and the subject. This would be my favourite area of this ride for sure!
Serrena:
Brain-munching isn't a zombie trait.
That's only in Return of the Living Dead, which is a joke (John Russo is an assclown).
True Romero zombies (and those other films that have followed his rules) don't go, "Braaaaaaains". They just eat whatever they happen to rip out / off.
Still don't like 'em, but thanks for the clarification, Ginsu Victim. I just know the original black & white Night of the Living Dead scared the crap out of me and I've turned off every zombie film I've come across since.
The old dark ride at Hanson's in NE Pa, had mesh around all of its monsters, either to keep them in, or kiddies out,,,,,,
Awyper!! i remember hansons amusement park, great wooden rollercoaster.
hey, I work in that office...it's 9 am....no it's 5pm...hey , since when have we been in a cage?
Nice one! Abadoned theme parks always intrigue me!
Silkster, Awsome old Woody! I remember many a Sunday at Hansons, the Haunted House was also a hoot!!!!!
How old are the pics. None of this is there any more. NONE.... ALL GONE
awyper, Do tell, old man. I'd like to hear. You have stories to tell....
Oh my God! awyper, have you done went and turned into a man?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! =8-o
Well zombies rock!
oops! Sorry , awyper yer not a man ...no yer not an old man , is what I meant...oh, thanks Lynne, for gettin yer name in there agin ;-)
Something else that just occurred to me. Something scary from Rocky Point history. A 15 year old serial killer (four murders without specific cause although he claimed botched robbery) worked there during the time he had already committed murder. You can google his name with the word killer to get more info...although none of the stories are likely to mention the park. He worked in the foods department and his name is Craig Price.
Was this a true gravity-run dark house? Anybody know?
No gravity involved. Cars moved through the ride on electricity.
You use to come into this room and you would hear rain sound effects and screams and moans and yelling.

You could see hands coming up like they were rising from the graves and the bodies would pop up with a rush of cool air. Felt good in the summertime
craig price, btw, didn't strike one as a serial killer when you met him.
I worked here between freshman and sophomore year.
yep- i was a carny.
well, a game-chick actually.
I'd be willing to bet that many of the people i worked with were guilty of a lot of really perverse and creepy shit.
I know for a fact about some pretty tapped stuff former co-workers of mind did during that time and afterwards.
oh, yeah.
I can neither confirm nor deny my involvement in anything.
Ever.
: )
Catydid - did you also have a sister that worked there at the same time that you did? Your supervisors would have been PJ, Chris, Craig (not price), Russ...
nope....my sister didn't work there...but I know who you're thinking of.... i think... i was there in 94
Both sisters looked amazingly alike although it was obvious that there was a couple of years difference between them. They also both had that Warwick 'big hair'. No offense if that also describes you! I'm thinking that perhaps the girls name was Jenny rather than Caty, but even that might be wrong. We're probably talking 1991. Not sure if they were still there in 1994. The younger sister worked in the flea market in the winters.
Wait a sec. Something doesnt add up year wise. Craig worked at RP in 89 which is also the year that he committed the 2nd set of murders. By 1994, the year you were there, he no longer worked for the park. In fact he had already been in prison for five years. I'm wondering if you are confusing the two Craig's. The murderer worked in foods not games.
...in other words how could you have met him? He was long gone by the time you got there.
what happen to this place
been meaning to get back here an post a reply to J Black.
I knew craig just from being one of those pathetic stoned kids who hung out at the park in the summer for lack of anything better to do...lol.
thant and my lifelong philosophy of ALWAYS talking to strangers (my parents tried...they really did...)
but yeah-
so i don't have big hair....though the city i'm from is known for it...
knew craig from chatting with people who worked there....
and thought it was a great place to work when i worked there later on...though the pay wiked sucked..... but the perks were great!!
i have just such an interest in satanism and want to study it. i'm a christian and just think this is wrong. south africa
Ahaha, I remember this part of the ride! I thought this was the coolest hauntedhouse ride because at some parts it was like a rollercoaster. I cannot stand WALKING through (amusement) haunted houses!
I think part of the wall collapsed or there was a hole bashed through, tough to remember.
I sure loved this house of horrors. I use to ride on this ride over and over again. It was scary then and now it's fun. I sure miss this park. It sure was alot of fun.
this looks so real ..........well to me atleast ...............still cool though Motts (you rock!)
That is very creepy. It looks so real! Iam now scarde
hope they don't really spring up and try and get you that would scare the crap out of me at least with the place in this state ya know lol
I love how rough the ride is through these things...
this was by far the scariest haunted house i have ever been in. Rocky point ruined all other haunted houses for me because nothing compared to this one. or the time there was a power failure and we got stuck inside it and had to walk out, feeling the walls so we wouldn't run into anything. creepppppy!!!!!
Whoa--I'm really surprised that this much of it was still intact!
I went on this ride-ONCE! If Rocky Point was still running along with this ride,I think you can add The Undertaker to this ride. LOL!
yesterdays "Supernatral" episode had zombies that rose from the dead, killed somone, and went back to their old lives.and then they turned back into zombies.
chreey,huh?
:]
cheery, not chreey sorry
I remember coming off this ride in tears when I was a kid
