Oh, this is that same kiddies carousel....... wow I love the lush greenery!
By the growth it seems like this place as been abandoned for centuries.
Fabulous - like a chess piece that fell off the table and landed here.
Looks like a carousel for Hobbits.
Then it's just my size!
Nasty little hobbitses.. It's my preshsuss..... My preshsuss.....
We'll make them get off.... nasty Hobbitses.. we'll make them get off this ride....
Me too, Jo!
Me three! Shorties of the world, unite!
I am about 1 inch shy of being a hobbit, and I am also lacking the hairy feet (thank God!)
I'm still four foot... And im lacking the hairy feet too. It's really weird because my best friend is 6 foot.
Count me in guys, Im only five feet in my tennies.
Oh yikes, no hairy feet here either. Five feet two inches though......and Lynne, we're not short we're vertically challenged. :)
Fuck vertically challenged, we are short.
But know all of you are loved by me, Im 5'7" (dont hate me)
WOW! NEAT!
Same picture, but a different angle of the "Beer Garden".
Wow must have been pretty colorful if the red and green stripes. It also looks like it is in the middle of know where.
There she is again sad and lost.
Rhode Island is a beautiful place in the Summertime. This park was on the water, so it was really wonderful during the Summer.
Reminds me of days in Finnish Army : that was my gabin in the hill during winter-86, -25 celcius, no supplyes,no fear.but there was about 25 soldiers with me with the strong believe in our country..:)
In a tent... :(
Africa or Rocky Point?
That is one of the best shots on this site! I wish I could get a print of it. Great job Mr. Mottts.
There was no wooden roller coaster there in the 90s. I suspect that you were visiting Lincoln Park which did have a big white wooden roller coaster.

The Cyclone was Blue, the Corkscrew white. There were roller coasters at the park that were wooden back in the late 60s. Possibly early 70s.
Yes, I remember the white wooden roller coaster at Lincoln Park. Did have great turns but scary as hell.. the wood was creaky.
I went to Rocky Point a long time ago and if I remember correctly this carousel was off on its own and abandoned, there were picninc tables nearby. I could be wrong and thinking of somelace else but this looks so familiar.
Is this the kiddie one at Rocky Point now? If so When?
Tks
i went to rocky point park in the year of 1994 and why did rocky point close down .if rocky point closed down what year did they close down
I remember this carousel too. It was part of the kiddie land. It was a small all horse carousel, and the big one had a variety of animals.

This carousel is still spinning in Cranston RI at an ice cream place.

These photos are amazing and so sad. Rocky Point was a wonderful park and I have great memories of going there. A trip to the Shore Dinner Hall for clamcakes and "chowda" was a must!
So what's the story now? Is everything we're seeing just a memory?
Yes Nance,

A fire started in the Shore DInner Hall and now they are rebuilding a gated community on it.

Sad, huh? = (
It seems as thought we can't decide whether this is the beer garden or kiddie carousel....I can't place this little building at all, and I seen to remember the beer garden being located between the House of Horrors and the Chairlift ride. Maybe this place had already been long abandoned by the time I started going there?
I believe this picture is of the beer garden gazebo. It was located where kiddie land was years before. It was right next to where the corkscrew rollercoaster was located. It seems as this picture could have been taken from the loading area of the corkscrew.
almost resembles an african hut!
Interesting roof line-it's a shame that no one has bought the place to rehab it into a new amusement park. Rocky Point has that vintage charm just like another old place called "Whalom Park-for a Whale of a Time!" Whalom Park was located in Lunenburg, MA. My mom used to take me there all the time during the summer. It was a great old park. Unfortunately, it closed, auctioned off everything, and was slated for condos. : (
spacey nice and green i love this shot
