Seeing great things left like this always makes me so sad..... Where's Lynne when I need her? *sniff *sniff*
There, there, sweetie.

[wipes eyes and gives her a big hug]
LYNNE! It's so lonely without you here ya know! **blows nose** Thanks for the hug....
I havn't seen a silkster post in a while...........
Yeah, calling Silkster........where are you????
I loved the ski lift, there was always the risk of throwing chewed up gum at the people down below and being banned from the ride for the day.
Those rides that turn you upside down are great for watching stuff 'fall out' and hit the ground. You'ld be surprised at the stuff that falls out of kids' pockets. (LOL)
heyyyyyyyyyy
I heard someone was paiging me!!!
New pics!!! Very cool.
:-)
Nice to hear from you, silkster
Ya, nice to see ya back on, Silkster! ;-)
Silkster, welcome.....
thank you, :-) i missed you guys!! have i missed any new catapulting tables or light up soap dispensers?
i remember going up on that when I was about 5(like 1994 or so), that was the coolest thing I had ever done, i was so excited being up above the forest.
This picture makes me so sad, but then again I'm still mourning the loss of the SkyWay at Disneyland!
Puddleboy I think you will like this picture
I remember the miniature golf under the gondolas base, makes me sad to see, my yourh in the 70's was spent in that place. TKS for the pics!!!!
does anyone know who purchased the rides and maybe where they have gone to???
TJ, the carousel is at a place called Dairy World, of all things.
This is part of the "Sky Liner"
I remember the day my sister went on this ride, we dropped popcorn or something on the golf course below when we returned the attendant wanted us to go to the office! HA do you think my grandmother would have anything to do with that??? She also would go on the scrambler with us!! I miss her so. RP so sad to see that place gone. RIP.
Wow.. seeing that brings back some memories. I remember going to Rocky Point when I was a teenager (wont say how long ago that was :-S) with my stepmother to be the gold digger and my father, We went on this ride and my stepmother was so scared even though at it highest point it was only about 10 ft off the ground, She screame at the top of her lungs clinging so hard to my father he had almost instant bruising when we were able to undo her death grip...lmfao
The sky liner was a cool ride...I just hated when people in your car...or others close by...jumped around in their car because the whole cable would bounce!!! Also....we used to ride it to the top and jump out and run around in the woods surrounding the park!...Very cool!!!!
This ride was called the sky liner. You use to climb two sets of stairs and go to the end of a cement block and this 12 year old would take your tickets.

He would secure you in and you would ride over the top of the park. It was really cool to look down on all the people and when you went to the end and the ride would turn around, most teenagers would jump off (kinda stupid because it was a really steep jump)

And when you got back you would have to jump out of the seat, unlock the safety belt and prey you didn't hit the next couple waiting to get on board
I can not count how many times we rode this ride. What a shame that this is all gone now...
i used to love love love the skyliner..i memba dropping my stuff animal once i was o sad lol....i wish Rocky Point was still around :(
I have such fond memories of riding the Sky Liner with my grandfather - that and the ferris wheel were "our" rides together every time we went!
I just broke in a filmed all this. I do not remember the park because i am only 17 but it is very sad. RI will never be the same.
care to share your film with me?
email me mayohj@yahoo.com
The name of this ride is the sky liner. My cousins and I would ride this midday . Then would eat at the Shore Diner Hall. Rocky Point Will Rise Again!!!
Rocky Point Park, We Love You & Miss You...Someday, we'll be together again...
aah.....the skyliner. One of the few rides that didn't make me toss my clamcakes.
This reminds me of the Skyway that used to be at Disneyland. If I went to Disneyland at the age of 2, I could've seen the skyway operating. AW MAN!!! I always miss out on the old Disneyland stuff.
I think I went to Disneyland as a 2 year old...
IS IT HAUNTED, THATS ALL WANT TO KNOW
I went here was i was really little!! They closed it down when I was about five, I wish it was still open!
Meg if you still want to ride the skyway, go to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. They have a skyway there. I knew that because I went there last wednesday and rode the skyway.
I would go to Rocky point every year with American Standard picnic. This ride is the Skyliner. No not haunted just closed. I miss this place. Lots of great memories. They have a documentary on Netflix about Rocky point
They have one of these at Knobels in Pa. Awesome ride, very beautiful on the way down the mountain.
Aww, no one ever paiges me.lol :)
Paiging coco
They had a kid waiting at the turn to bring you into the office if you jumped off. They'd kick you out of the park.
