Awesome ....
my god, it looks like a fortress.
IT KINDA LOOKS LIKE ITS ALL HUDDLED TOGETHER.
I agree derelict.
I love this building
This will sound bizzare but it looks so big yet in such small square footage
Motts, just really great photos, again, you have captured the essence. Gives me the chills and some minor rushes.
We should all squat on the land for however it takes for us to claim it. =]. hahah. Then we could restore it and make some kind of awesome museum. Or at least better than the Public Health Museum they have at Tewksbury State Hospital. It's only open by request and it's basically the stupidest thing ever. Ugh.
Man i live really close to this place and i come up here alot. This place is awesome one of my favortie things in Worcester. Thank Gos you guys are okay because there are alot of collapsed floors. thanks fore these pictures. You got my support. :)
When I was a kid, my dad use to work @ the New state hospital next door, so this place is not new to me at all. In fact, the city bus from where we lived (very close by on Wigwam Hill) would pass through the property and the was never a shortage og Pheasants grazing on the property. As far as anything "spooky" that I have heard aboutt his place, my dad once told me he took a tour inside one day and they found shackles on the walls where they would chain the patients up. Cree-py!
Nice pics BTW.
I've been in this building. As Mr. Motts stated that there were mazes in there. Firefighters train in there for the horrible occasions that they need to escape from the fire or die, "Save ourselves" I still get the chills from there and I could feel the darkness all around me when I was there.
Wow, you can clearly see where there used to be a hall way and more building. That's so weird how they just bricked it off like that.
Worcester State Hospital strongly resembled Danvers State Hospital. Same type of architecture and sprawling wings on both sides. The fire destroyed most of the wings.
They bricked up what was left. Hopefully this building (the Clock Tower as it is known) and the remaining buildings will be saved when the new hospital is built on the grounds.
Huddled together....I think this building scares itself!
I would buy this and use it as my home if I had the money.
I love this building!
Another beautiful shot. It looks like a castle I saw in England.
i would love to buy this, too (if i had the $) and build my own mansion!
this is a magnificent structure- why doesn''t someone pony up the cash
