Bathroom

The bathrooms were located at the ends of the wards, and all looked similar to this.

This room appears so unreal...
ok, so if i had a choice of peeing my pants or using one of these toilets, guess what i would choose?
Well, that would make ME severely curtail my fluid intake. 8`-)
Motts, are you standing in the doorway and the toilets are on an angle? The whole set up is so odd.
Are you sure this isn't the bathroom from Trainspotting?
I sincerely hope it wasn't in this state when this place was in use!
quest, I believe that Motts was standing on the toilets and the doorways were on an angle.
I think I'd rather go in the bushes than use these.
The odd agles are no so odd when you think of the age of the building
Did the window have glass in it or was it open like that with just the bars, ya wonder? Talk about a cold seat for us girls on those lovely December mornings! BRRRR
Everything is still kinda scary but look at those toliets.
I guess no Privits time here. damm how do they use them this way no seaat?
I don't see any toilet paper holders either. Guess everybody brought in a newspaper to read, then they ~used~ it.
i wonder, like... if you started a chat with some bloke sitting right next to you?..
this make me wonder how many activities did these people have to do with others? useing restrooms and showers and god only knows what elt's the lack of privacy would drive me crazy !!! shouldnt there be some sort of effort to preserve their modesty and respect them as people deserveing privacy from other patients i can understand if a nurse had to be with them at all times but did your bunk mate have to watch you take a dump too ? weird isnt it ? email comments to justicedreams24@aol.com
the shadow to the right looks like an image of a man
GOD NO PRIVICY
Very dungeonesque, don't you think?
Sketchy!!
This is very Romanesque -- like the ruins of Pompei -- is that Caligula hiding back there in the dark?
Janice you are starting to worry me first the elevator and now this. Nice picture Motteee my Boy!!!!!!!!
Seriously, this picture reminds me of ancient Roman ruins -- like frescoes on the walls and mosaic tile floors. Like the ruins of Pompei after they excavated the site. Beautiful picture. Motteee?
haha i agree with eddy------^ thats sketchy...
These DO look a little barbaric, but if you go to Iraq, half the people don't even know what a toilet is!
The Adams Family bathroom.
i've been there and it's kinda freaky if your drunk.
OMG that is sooooo gross
Looks *very* Max Paynish to me.
"Pulls pants down" "Young lady walks in" "I jump up and pulls pants up" "She starts laughing" And i notice i wasn't through with my buisness and it was all over my pants "Black stains hard to get out"
Wanna go for a swim? =]
The only picture that is really missing from the photo gallery is the one of the childrens ward! me and my buddy had something walk down the hallway from us while we were around in that area...
The way these people are treated is so evident of the bathrooms.

i guess most of u people were never in the service. bath rooms were no different
william schafer:

What were the dated years that you were in the service ?

The reason why I am asking is because the latrines in the United States Army are starting to change and I mean really change alot !

Biftek: I am responding to your comment that you wrote on the 19th of November, 2006.

Please relate the story of what happened to you and your friend when you were walking around the childrens ward.

Thank you.

I really doubt that's a children's ward.
joseph I was in service june 57 to march 58. I was stationed BAUMHOLDER GER where ROMMEL trained his tank corps. I worked at worcester state hosp. worcester mass
correction june 57 to march 59
william schafer,

i agree. i'm currently in the service and have had to deal with these type of accomodations every now and again. even had to deal with it for three months while in a holding area before going to the sandbox!
william schafer

Thank for responding.

I am finally able to get to get back to you.

The latrines in the Army now - a - days are really starting to change. Some of the barracks in Germany are really start to change. The barracks are being refurbished. I call them "4 star hotels". These barracks that are now being refurbished in Germany have the American 110 voltage electrical wall outlets in addition to the European 220 voltage wall outlets. Eventually the day will come when the "step - down 220 voltage to 110 voltage transformers" will hardly ever be used anymore by the American Military personnel in Europe. There are now built - in ready to use telephone connection ports along with built - in cable television ready to use access ports and ready to use computer internet access ports. These same barracks rooms also have walk - in closets, microwave ovens, kitchen sinks with hot and cold running water and cupboards along with a nice refridgerator. The latrines in these same barracks rooms are now "walk - in bathrooms" instead of the latrines from the "old days". These "bathrooms" have a nice sink and mirror and a very nice shower. Some of these "bathrooms" have a bathtub too. The floor and walls also tiled. And these "bathrooms" usually have a window too.

These new barracks latrines or "bathrooms" are so much nicer today. I can certainly tell you that.

The U.S. Air Force is now starting to have washers and dryers placed in each individual barracks room.

Some of the things in the Military are just starting to get better.

The latrines (if you can call them that) absolutely sucked when I was deployed to Haiti in 1994. The toilets in the photograph above actually look better then the bathroom in the Haiti.

Well take care and thank you for serving the United States of America.

May 1991, shortly before the fire 2 of my friends and I went into this building, I can't remember if it was the second floor but near one of the bathrooms was a room with a solitary wheelchair, the floor was covered in dust with only tread marks from the wheel going across the room from wall to wall, far away from the only door...my question is did you find this room? If I can find the pistures I took I will gladly post them, they just frightened me to keep them around so I unfortunately put them somewhere and am currently trying to find them.
I worked there 54 to 57 on male service. the buildings to right of tower bldg (main entrance)
I havent been there in 40 yrs. how did u get in ?
ww1acepilot@yahoo.com like to hear from u DAWN
where were the sinks? The ceiling looks very high for a bathroom
opposide of room
What a dump!!!! EWWWWWWW
ok me personally Id rather pee myself. it makes me think " got privacy " instead of got milk but either way cool shot motts
I think this was the high point of thier life and everything went down from there.
Several generations of my family were employed at WSH from the late 1800's until it's closing in 1959. Sad that the State decided to destroy any and all records of the institution. As teens in the early 1970's we'd enter the vacant structures. How I wish I took pictures now.
Researching old census and other Worcester records from yesteryear I noticed many people were sentenced to WSH for "masturbation."
Those toilets are amazing relics! I wonder if anyone can date them.
I couldn't date one of those, I'm married.
interesting and might i add i wld luv 2 take a shyte in there ill give 1.1million dollars 4 it
me and my paranormal investigation team were just in the hospital last night...its extremly dangerous inside, but its more awesome then scary, but we went all over the place and couldn't find the barber chair, shower room, or the solitary confinement area...we will return to find those areas before they demolish the entire hospital though...if any one would like to see some pictures we took, then feel free to e-mail me for your request - mtrudell09@yahoo.com -thanks, mike
Perhaps the lack of privacy here was to deter further masterbatory endeavors, Ed?
I've been thinking about it, and while it seems absurd to have someone committed for masturbating, we don't know the circumstances. Maybe they were caught whacking off to grandma undressing or beating it while watching neighborhood kids playing out the window. I'd find either one disturbing and I'd rather have the latter put away before he started touching those kids. You just never know the details. If you read about people like Theodore Frank and Joseph Kallinger you would understand where abnormal sexual fixations can lead. Then there's Cesar Barone. Who would think someone would be turned on by old ladies? There is something wrong there and if I found my son doing either one I'd want help for him too. I realize that those asylums were never really "help", who knew any better at the time?
It gives a new meaning to "BUDDY DUMP"
LOL Buddy dump
Nothing like a good ol' group toilet experience. lol.
I guess people used to enjoy battle shit a lot back then....
not only you can share your sounding, smelling but also the visual action thats taking place haha
I would not be able to piss nor shit if someones using it...
THEY SEE EVERYTHING!!!
Creepiest looking bathroom I've ever seen.
I've had nightmares involving bathrooms EXACTLY like this.

*shudder*
Looks like a dungeon. Those are the funniest looking pots I've ever seen.
I'm not sure if this has been stated but what could have been up was walls much like our public bathroom stalls have. I'm a tile setter and when I work in a public bathroom this is exactly how it looks to us then the partition guys come in and put in the separating walls which usually have the tp and napkin holders
I also noticed the color change on the wall about to the height we would have and that the flooring is gone. There is more then enough room between each toilet for this to be the case. With a lot of the petitions they don't last very long and are only held in by a few nails. Once the floor goes they go.
