Hallway

Hallway

Since the windows are boarded from the ground floor to the top, the water was kept out and the building remains in very good condition considering it's age... and it's pitch black inside!

Motts, I'm gonna buy you a tripod with a level

hahahahahha
Haha... hey you try getting this perfectly level in complete darkness! 8]
Motts! I love this shot it's just so perfect.
The odd angle due to Tripodlessness is so neat, and I just adore the lighting!
Now that is the definition of the word "creepy". The tilt only adds to that effect.
Whew! I just frowed up! :-)
Yes, but if all of Mott's photos end up being level, then Lynne will never get to use her sea legs. And she must be out of practice since she just "went over the bridge."
And I could never do the pirate dance!
No Level, I love the crooked hallway pics!!
I thought that picture was done that way on purpose?lol
I always thought the tilted look gave a cool perspective too. Oh and Lynne, "pirate dance" got me thinking about Johnny Depp. Yum.
The word "pirate" will always conjur up Johnny Depp from here on out for most of us, luckily. ;-)
Oooh I hope so! ;)
Kind of "Batman-ish", no? The tilted crooks hideouts?
I am dreaming...
This is the hallway to hell
This makes me feel like someone slipped me a bad drug. I'm waiting for someone or something to jump out of one ofthe doorways
Many, many years ago, in a different time, and life, a friend of mine was commited to this hospital after a bad experience with angel dust.
I remember the ward he was on looked very similar to this picture, it was a pretty big place and the architechture was something else, though not as impressive as Danvers.
Was he in the old part of the building?
I worked in a Nursing home years back when the fire happened and we got alot of the patients from Worc. State. After the new patients arrived we started hearing rumours about hte living conditions there, but I also hear stories about how it wasn't such a bad place. I would lke to hear more if anyone has worked there.
Yes, he was in one of the older buildings if memory serves correctly. I lost touch after I broke up with the guy I was going with at the time, it was actually his friend we used to visit there. It was long before the fire so if he was still around by then you would have probably gotten him at your nursing home. He was originally from Portugal and didn't speak much english, after his "experience" with angel dust, he didn't really speak at all, real sad.
That is very sad, I dont think he was ever in our care, I rememeber each resident to this day,....but I do hope he is well.
Thanks AquariusP, I'm not sure what became of him because it just got to be to much for my ex-boyfriend so we stopped going.
Then ex-bf and I broke up and the rest is ancient history now, twenty years ago or more. I think he ended up being released home to his family where they took care of him but can't remember for sure, thank you for your kind words though, these things are never easy for anyone involved.
hummm ... dumb portuguese people always thinking one cant have fun without the help of something else ... so typical. well ... i see a dual colour hall . anyone know the colors in this ?
Sorry but the only color I'm seeing right now is red.
red is a nice color ... btw ... im portuguese
No harm done, I tend to be too sensitive sometimes. Back on subject, I can't remember the colors in the area I visited, some things you block out I guess.
Motts, how long was the exposure for this one?
I think about one minute at F8 ISO 100
F.Y.I. have been in the "new" building and it looks rather similar to this hallway, of course, a little nice, carpetted (kinda scary carpet though) ...
Hey we need a group to go their at night that will be adventure. Iknow I will go.
Motts, do you know if there were any lights in here at one point? if not than it was possibly so dark to keep patients from roaming the halls in the middle of night perhaps?
...See all the paint flaking off the walls? that's lead paint....I've been inside that building looking around a few times....hope you were wearing a mask over your mouth....It looked to me like all the Asbestos has already been removed. but my main concern in that building (while my 280 Lbs ass is walking around in there anyways...) is the weak floors, water damage, possible termite damage, etc... I wish I had a way to brace myself with the Ceiling with like Motorcycle Tiedown Straps or something...
Let's see whats behind door number two !

I choose not to reveal that information online.
SO SCARY.
omgosh.
Thats a very creepy hallway
I will sleep in there
And rats will eat your face.
What a picture!
hey mr. motts did it smell reallly bad ?
Did anyone notice that the outline of a person on the ceiling?
a very nice creep hallow hallway!
The composition is great but that scares the bejeezus out of me! I'm waiting for someone or something to jump out of one of those doorways. Damn I've got chills.....
I love the slight angle. It gives that feeling of motion, almost like someone is running as fast as they can from whatever. Pretty eerie and I love it.
