..anybody know if those are solenoids?
They look more like old wire wound resistors
connected to rotary switches.
...a primitive surge protector? Gosh, I feel geeky :-)
quest, can you use Preparation H for solenoids?
no, Lynne, I don't believe so...and before I loose my electrolytes, I will be running along ;-}
Preparation S ?
electrolytes, mmmmmmmm.
dirn it, you found me out...i'm just a big' ol' geek that runs alot ;=[
An early type of electrical soap dispener maybe ?
Looks like capacitors and series switches used to perform electro-shock therapy.
Flux capacitors?
cool
Those are capacitors the circular thing is actualy a slot where you would fit a valve or tube which is a fancy name for a light bulb that acts as a resister..... I have a 1939 radio thats how i know
If you look close there is still a glass tube in the right hand corner of the picture near the box
They look like those little party poppers that you get on New Year's Eve, where you pull a string on the bottom and confetti shoots out of the top.
Oh those are where my hair curlers went!
I need those back.......
These appear to be wire wound resistors or chokes. I'm wagering it's from the hospitals 'tinker' or parts bin. It's clearly been fully snipped from whatever it once controlled. Whomever last did the soldering on it wasn't very skilled either.
how in the hell did you get in??? i could find away in....tell me if you get this, and great shots man!!

peace easy - xJIMx
wow scaryyyyyy
Wow, this reminds me of when I got about ten of the biggest capacitors I could find, then wired 'em all up backwards to my power supply. I put the red wire in the black socket and the black wire in the red socket. The result was they all blew up one by one like a little machine gun! It sure scared my cat.
What is with you people and SOAP DESPENSERS???? : )
THEY ARE HOT ROLLERS!!!!!!!!! : )
I didn't realize they had those back then.
The older part of Worc State closed I think sometime in the late 1960s /early 70s. They had hot rollers back then ;-)
thats weird.
(:
They look like parts from an old radio
I heard that this place is haunted now
ive been to it 20 times just not in bc its condemmed
Not haunted, but close to death, for demolition is to begin within the coming weeks.
Ha ha ha! Twug's knows what it is!
I wonder who were hooked up to these little babies :evil grin:
This Gallery looks very very Cool.
Solinoids
Solinoids? Are they related to Adnoids and The Noid (remember from the old Domino's Pizza commercials from waaaaaay back?)

Oh great...NOW who sounds like a nerdlette?
You find some of the coolest stuff in the basements, Motts. I wouldn't have the stones to go down there so I'm grateful for your fascinating photography.
