I would try helping you figure it out if you weren't so rude, oh well. When I ask around for some brains, I sure won't be asking you "pal".
i almost wish i had caught the "genius's" post before you did. thanks for saving me the trouble.
kevin, can you understand the implicit significance that lies beyond the simple photograph of the wall now? barbara explained it beautifully and anna has a point. or is it still too "the part of the stage in front of the curtain'" (noun) for you? whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.
Since we all know what trouble you have with big words I did the leg work for you:

~actual quote by motts~
"Thank you for the critical comments, I always take them into consideration and look forward to reading any well founded opinion."
but there is a difference between polite/constructive criticism and using criticism as a means to insult and taunt (with what borders on senseless babble, i might add) people and ideas one might be unwilling to, of incapable of, understanding. those with such a low empathy rating, imo, are mildly amusing, at best, but then again, perhaps these pictures hit kevin a little too close to home and this is the only way he knows how to lash out. you never know....
Oh well!
Gods I love this picture. I'm always one to try and get into the minds of the people who would have been in such a place and this one is just...wow...what if it was a patient? Someone sitting there staring at the walls for god only knows how long, thinking of a lost love, maybe one who put the patient into the hospital, the reason the patient was sitting in that one room...Love. Such a powerful emotion to be put into 4 letters...
my advice to you kevin: quit being such a jerkoff!
sorry, im not usually mean but if you're rude to someone that i admire, you'll get your head bitten off
Into a wall made of stone
Maybe someday another child
Won' t feel as alone as she does
It's been two years and counting
Since they put her in this place
She's been diagnosed by some stupid f*ck
And mommy agrees yeah...
What you taught me
Putting me here
Don't come visit
Mother, mother
Why go home...
Why?" Ten - Pearl Jam
Incredible shot.
And Lynne, I always enjoy reading your posts, this gallery had some very informative ones. Thanks! :)
Also, perhaps you and anyone else who have lived/worked at NSH, or are interested in more about the hospital, might want to try to pick up a small book called "The Life and Death of Northampton State Hospital" by J. Michael Moore (1993). It contains some great history and also details the closing quite well... it may be hard to find though.
