Oh my God! Catch the royal blue paint on the wall in back and the beautifully sinister door it frames (with the scary barred window overhead and the gross green stuff growing on the wall)!! That makes this another in the Top 10 gallery!
Mr. Motts, this is one of those shots that can't even be described or appreciated by words. I love it.
its kinda weird, but what i like about this shot the most, is the light reflecting on the floor.
I agree with Anna, the way the light hits the floor is breathtaking!
Look closely I think there's someone peaking down from the rafter type thingyees
Again, WONDERFUL photo!
Imagine - sitting alone, no tv, no books, but I have the Sun
Did the ceiling just, fall off?
i dont know how you can do this.just looking at these pics is making me scoot away from the closet.lol.
I live around here and never had the guts to go inside, now it is no more, they knocked her down. I regret it so much. Last night on SciFi this place was on The Most Scariest Places On Earth. That freeks me out!
The contrast in colors never ceases to delight. Captivating photography. Such a story your photos tell us. Thank you for documenting this period of time. It does serve to honor those that were here before we got to see the place!
Motts - do you use LAB mode in photoshop to pull the colors? I'm studying this now and so far this looks like the best example of it. These photos are incredible and moving. I've always had this facination with the hospital. I went in to one of the "doctor's houses" a long while back. There were crazy paintings on the walls and there was a big pit going deep into the ground..from a tunnel I assume? anyway. Awesome.
Thanks, no I just adjust the brightness and contrast from the RAW file, then again in the program; the amazing colors are pretty true to life, which is part of what made NSH such a beautiful place.
Your room, sir...
