The Ballroom

The Ballroom

I'm not sure what this room was used for, but it was interesting that it was built so high, and the recess in the ceiling might've held an ornate chandelier.

I absolutely love this place, its so mystical.
It is, I agree, pretty damn cool.

I wonder if it served a religious function? (More plausible than a ballroom perhaps, and the stained glass is another clue...)

I'm guessing now. Could have been anything.
It could've been; there was a chapel on the grounds though, and it is very old. Perhaps it served those who could not make it outside...
"majestic" is the word that comes to mind. impressive shot, motts!
If the light fixtures weren't there, this would be positively medieval.
Beautiful windows!
I'll tell ya, I definitely wouldn't mind dancing in here.
who ever quoted chapel was right on . Look between each group of 4 windows you will see a cross. yes this was a chapel in its hayday. Nice photographs but do not get caught. They will arrest you.
I loved stained glass, that place is fantastic!
stick a few gargoyles up on the ceiling and your're set. ^.=.^
