Reflection

Reflection

Another one of those moments where you stop dead in your tracks and realize it's not some sort of strange reflection in front of you!

Now that is wild!!!!!!
Is it or isn't it an illusion? <me ponders>
Yes, good thing you stopped dead in your tracks....

See, this is what worries me when people go to these places and do drugs and drink...you really need to be fully alert and on your toes at all times to avoid sudden death or serious injury in these places...even completely sober you're still in a lot of danger. Especially younger kids that have no clue about these places to begin with.
I'm also of the opinion that it's immensely disrespectful to destroy these places. They should be venues for eye-opening exploration and maybe sombre reflection, but certainly not for wild parties and drug-fuelled vandalism. People might actually learn something if they weren't so keen to smash up sanitaryware and tag every available surface.

Of course, that kind of destruction also results in increased security because of the potential for injury lawsuits etc, making it more difficult for genuine explorers to gain entry, as well as the damage and destruction making theeventual re-use of the building that much more uneconomic...
OK - wallpaper time!
YIKES!
awesome pic Motts!!!!
TOO freakin' cool for me! Makes you wonder how far out you can walk before it would all fall down (not that I'd want anyone to try--well, maybe a couple people I know).
Jeez, Mr. Motts. Amazing. This is another one of my very favourite pictures that you've taken. It really does rock, and I'm so glad you shared it with us!
These images are completely mind blowing to me, I really do love them, especially when you get that reflection effect, it just looks freaking amazing.
If your very observant you can tell its not a reflection because the darker side of the bottom windows would be on top. Nice picture, Mr. Motts.
Great shot! It does look like a pool of water at first glance. I'm sure glad you have good brakes on your shoes Motts......
Lynne's right....WALLPAPER.!
....holy cow...
I hope you watch every step through these buildings. That is a very fantastic picture but it looks very very dangerous.
In the winter it couls be an indoor ice skating rink.

-- Or is that a bad idea?
Gezal, I would really hope you would never try that seening how what you are looking at is a hole to the room below and not an acutal pool of liquid.
Ok, I just posted a few pix back about the construction methods "then" vs "now". Note the way the floors are attached to the wall (I think this is called "balloon construction"). There is NO WAY buildings are built like this today.

But what a picture! Wow...
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a perfect shot! I just love it! =D
Thanks to you, Mr. Motts, I can explore places like this from the comfort and safety of my computer chair!
That's one reflection you don't want to see "yourself" in........be careful!
This is my new favourite picture in the history of ever.
I would've been stupid enough to fall for that.
Now that one really looks like a reflection!
AMAZING, MIND BLOWING. You capture things in your images that totally transend!
Wait a minute... Is that a puddle or a hole?
