Nice blue glow from the top spot there, or is that some strange reflection of you?
It's light coming in from the other side of the refrigerator... the backside opens up into the autopsy room.
eerie. i love the wooden cabinets on the freezer doors. makes the morgue seem more "homey", doesn't it?
Em . . . . . . . . "homey"?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Yeah, like a kitchen. :)
motts, have you ever seen any morgue units stacked like pizza ovens ? all the morgue shots on the site , well look like a morgue. the one at my place, has 3 long drawers, and when closed look like a 3 door pizza oven, no kidding.
So they are very thin? I haven't seen anything like that, and I wonder how portly bodies can fit inside... where do you work, in a general hospital?
Hmmm...I suppose I will think twice about eating pizza now. That reminds me, the pizza ovens at my high school did kinda look like that, and the manufacturer's name was Blodgett - I never found that name too appealing for some reason. I'm trying to remember the morgue I went to, I can't remember the drawers but I know they had a lot of gurnee-like table things with bodies on them...I bet in some cases they used those for the more portly bodies. As gross and insensitive as this sounds, I did notice that one of the bodies under a sheet on the cart was more portly. I think that since this was more of a university morgue (for studying doctors) they may not have had drawers.

=8-o

This was a morgue where they studied doctors that may not have had drawers!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

The "mortuary rack" holds up to 30 bodies:

Check out the animation for the "MB 100 Backdraft Workstation"!

This is interesting. It is the old morgue from Detroit's Wayne County. The pic at the bottom shows a HUGE morgue - says they had space for 186 bodies!

Lynne, dahling. You are a constant source of interesting information. Thanks for the interesting stuff!!!!
Doctors with no drawers, Huh? Soundslike a fun university to attend.
Hmm, my parents are going to wonder why under "Internet History" it shows I've been looking at body freezers... o_0 XD
Anyways, yes, the doctors had no drawers. Sounds like ~Me's kinda place, eh? LOL

Actually, I don't quite recall. The room with the bodies was adjacent to the autopsty theatre...I'm not sure whether it was the actual morgue or not but there were a lot of bodies there.
Twug, my sweet, my life is dedicated to serving you personally! :-)

(Would anyone like a little Chianti or fava beans with that?)
If you irritate me and start to nag,
Yer gonna end up in the morgue in a body bag.......
Which reminds me, I'm hungry. I haven't had breakfast yet.
thanks for the feedback, actually i work for one of the last remaining county homes in pa, soon to be taken over by a private company. there are 3 drawers one on top of another, you have to have one person at the feet and one at the head and place the person in sideways, its a very small morgue, no exam tables or equipment.
motts, once this private company builds a new building for the county's infirm, ill see if i can get you a tour of the old building.
Thanks so much, awyper, I'd love to see the place!
Barbara - I had the morgue wallpaper from here as my desktop wallpaper. My mother saw it, and started telling me about how a family friend works in a morgue.
What I wouldn't give to see an older morgue - the one where I work is just... I don't know what the word is.
But beautiful, as always.
my grandfather worked there delete that picture its possed. he said that he has seen that glow before
I highly doubt that someone who can't spell possessed would convince Master Motts to delete his artwork.
I am not sure what to say about the picture. But I do know that it does not bother me. I actually want to work in a morgue.
i am a 7th gaderad am trigto look 4 a coleg oruivrsiy that teaches you morgue stuff
Ok, I give up, what did she say???
Dr.Sketch I shall help transulate typonese *pushes up glasses* She writes:

' I'm a 7th Grader and Trying to look for a college university that teacher you morgue stuff.'

~Fin
LMAO *Teaches

Minus the typo I had a feeling that was going to occur go to correct someone elses mess and end up making a unfortunate slip up of my own. Can never trust my fingers.
is the morgue in the kirk?seems like an older morgue
No, there is no morgue in the Kirkbride, this is in a separate laboratory building.
it looks scary
All I know, is all I can think of when I look at this picture is how many bodies were laid in there. Kind of scarey but I still would love to tour places like this. My daughters and I used to go ghost-hunting all the time; and look for old abandoned buildings.
Did you ever find any Nancy?
As a matter of fact we did---in Gettysburg.
Thank God there is not a whole bunch of punk kids destroying these buildings like I have seen at Kings Park
wow scary who here has played nightmare creatures 2 its got morgue rooms just like this
wooden morgues dont really scare me i find the cold stanless steal ones to be more creepy this just looks to nice to be creppy
I want the morgue trays.
not very warm looking! creepy!
It's fascinating that Mopec's website is so cheery and un-morgue-y. Cadaver lifts are on clearance!
Renee...that's punk kids not only tagging & busting things, but then coming on here to brag. Ugh.

Nancy...Gettysburg says it all. (my boyfriend told me an uncle of his was on a small family expedition through that area, and suddenly saw apparitions of those buried in a Civil War graveyard.)
Nancy, if you were my mum, I'd cry with joy :)
My mum won't even take me clothes shopping, let alone urban exploring!!
wow. I'm not sure why but this morgue looks cozier than most :/
no beer in the freezer /im off to gettysburg ..... /and orb out/ with the rebel ghost
you make it sound almost erotic the way you put that//////that it looks cozier than most/// next,,,,,
The doors there are gone now, but I can't imagine they look very good on someone's kitchen cabnets though.
I don't know what it is about morgue pics that interest me but they do.
I know this is off topic but there was this one episode of Ghost Hunters where Steve and Dave were in a morgue and got onto the slabs with a recorder. That was wicked cool. That's what I wanted to say darn it, these shots are wicked cool.
