I'm sitting here biting my nails just hoping Motts didn't venture into any of these sinking monsters.
One of my biggest fears ..... a skinking ship!
Hehe. You're either brave or foolish to enter these sinking wrecked vessels. But you're a wonderful photographer.
I ride the Staten Island Ferry every time I'm in New York. Sad to see how the end up.
Most excellent photography. Beautiful and distressing atthe same time
Yes, truly sad in a way. Guess it makes me think about how old i'm getting too. But the memories of those old ferries are still vivid to me.
Although this boat might seem finished to most,
I see,and feel the spirit of this vessel. It is alive with
excitement of life of long ago and it is this life of long ago that gives this boat life today.Just be still, look, and listen.
I grew up on Staten Island but cannot remember seeing this site anywhere. Where is it?

Like you photos very much.

Gawd, I wanna kayak there.
When I look at this photo I wonder at that once there were people laughing and talking and that the ship was once a proud vessel.
Sad to see the Glory days of the vessel being over. Thinking of the crew that worked on it.
Oh yeah, this is def the ferrie I was on last year
There's a small fishing boat/pleasure boat graveyard similar to this in Lake Eufaula where I sometimes go to explore old cabin cruisers. They're in much better condition than these, but I wouldn't mind checking out some of these boats' interiors either.
Doesn't this look like an old covered bridge?
At one time this was a bridge. It just happened to be a floating one!
I wonder if any other of the ships were salvaged?
You... you went ON it?! Motts, you have my most profound respects.
why is everyone amazed that he went onboard some ships here? sure its dangerous but its not like its going to sink out from under you its already on the bottom. as long as you dont fall through a rotting deck or cut yourself on jagged metal you'll be fine.

just watch where your walking!
I would not walk on the deck because I can see alot of rotted spots on the deck just by looking at the picture. But the deck still looks cool.
Now that is what I call the passage of time.
