It's the mark of great architecture if a building can withstand all the things this has gone through. No wonder they called it a castle.

I think the vines and growth are holding it together. If those walls ever let loose, I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it.
I was in Dresden (Germany) in the early 80's, and a large part of the city center was still gutted from the firestorm bombing from the Second World War. Many of the buildings resembled this, exactly.

There are 4 visible here, and you are standing atop the contents of all these floors, which completely fill another below, possibly two.
5 or 6 all together if the catacombs are any indication.
I can only imagine what exactly remains buried beneath all that, it would be utterly facinating to excavate!

I have always wondered if anyone perished in the conflagration; if so, we would be walking across their impromptu grave.
