Looming Castle

The ominous ruin emerges from the trees as we approach the island.

Wowza! The word "ominous" was invented specifically so it could be used about this picture! That raggedy old castle is looking at us all cross-eyed, and there are stone monks walking along the rims of the castle . . .
Great photo it really does the place justice.
The building was flooded. The whole area was flooded! What year? Such a beautiful place...
Arrrgh no flood Matey
That is such a beautiful picture on so many levels. Absolutely stunning!
am I missing something? It's not flooded..addressing Mr. Pirate Kayaker [ stiffle LOL : )]
FAB....
Simply breathtaking...

I would love to have this picture hanging on my wall.
I conqur!
Send me this one Mr.Motts.
This is fantastic!!!! I agree with the posters above me--it would be an honor to display this photo!!
Wow, this looks just like a castle about 5 miles away from where i live. Cool pic btw- one of my favourites on the site easily.
....I could only dream of what it must have fealt like to apprach this magnificent structure.. with this photo I think I'm beginning to understand. Nice work
posolutely, absitively brilliant...
"Gaily bedight, a gallant knight, In sunshine and in shadow, Had journeyed long, singing a song, in search of Eldorado...."
"But he grew old -
This knight so bold -
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado."
Damn you! Nah. I knew you'd get it. It's probably the most easily recognizable of all of Poe's *moment of silence* works. I actually haven't read Lovecraft, have you? I need to. I love the macabre.
Gods I Want it *LOL*
Remarkable! Fantastic picture. It looks like a painting out of a storybook. Another pic for the castle calendar.
Yep, weasel, we want Motts to do calendars and/or coffee table books on lonely chair and hallway shots, as well. One on castles would be grand, too!
creepy yet beautiful!
That looks like something out of a fairy tale Motts. Well done. :-)
I agree with weasel and LI Irish; this pic is something out of the opening, say, of a Gothic horror film. Startling.
POE ROCKS!!!!!
Wallpaper please!
The picture alone is breathtaking - I can hardly imagine what it must have been like to approach such an imposing, beautiful structure in real life.
Breathtaking!
"it stands alone silent and forgotten wating for that curious one to look and fall in love with how it grows old with grace."
/ beauty in such strang places its charming./
