WOW Now that is an awesome photograph! Motts did you attempt to cross that precarious walkway? And if so, how flimsy was the floor?
Whoa! I just edited out a whole bunch of swear words! This shot takes the cake!
Wow this shot is amazing! Definitely one of my favorites!
Really awsome... I would'nt dare to walk thorugh that hallway!
You could probably make it along the right edge, but it's not the smartest thing to do, especially when you can just take the basement to the other side. The floor was in bad shape but it wasn't very soft... probably just rotted where it meets the wall.
That is the posterchild shot of why these places can be so dangerous.
I absolutely love it. Great job, Motts.
It looks like some funhouse trick.
When floors like these look so scary, arent you also afraid to climb the stairs too?
The stairs in this building were the sturdiest places, as they were mostly constructed with stone.
Incredible. I LOVE it.
one of my (hundreds of) favorites Mr. Motts!!
yikes!! this is a great shot. makes me thankful im a chicken and scared to enter places like this. thanks again mr motts for a great pic.
WOW!!!
ever wonder what dementia patients feel? This shot is so mentally chaotic. It is fabulous & out of control. great job!
fantastic.
Looks like a skateboarders dream come true ( I wouldn't recommended it though ).
The solid wood six panel door hanging on the right is probably old growth cherry or walnut. I just bought 20 similar doors for a custom home and they were $600 each.
wow can i buy this pic
A long and dangerous path. What lies on the other side of those doors? Heaven or Hell?
holy crap, that is impressive
It looks like one of those fun houses where the floor wobbles back and forth.
I've seen a lot of rotted floors but nothing like this!
I've noticed that often if you walk right against the walls the floors are almost always sturdy enough to hold you. Although I'm not sure if thats true for this floor!
Yup. My comfy chair here at home is looking better and better....
Mr Mott's.... You never cease to amaze me! You are as fascinating as the places you photograph. Never stop!

And Lynne.... Your wisdom is never ending.... I always love reading your comments. :)~
@motts
plz dont feel too save on stairs build of stone. if a wooden floor is going to collaps it will happen slowly and with creak und crunch sounds. but if a concrete floor or stairway decides to collaps right now it will happen by a sudden and without any warning sounds, and fully!!!
All I can say is wow. This is awesome.
DANG!!!...a shot that makes me suddenly overly curious about what's through all those doorways you can't physically GET to anymore...I can hardly stand the fact that those secrets (and shots) will remain hidden forever. Oh to be able to fly (no weight on the floors), and explore this whole place. I have to echo another's comment, and say "one of my hundreds of favorites".....;-)
That would worry me quite a bit, just standing even where the picture was taken.
Looks dangerous if you ask me. :P
are the floors bending up ?
ok - I keep going back to look at the pic and I keep changing my mind- please someone tell me -
No, the floors are only falling down. The center section of flooring was actually pretty solid, the edges just seemed to have rotted out.
Talk about off-kilter... anything that off balance belongs in a mental institution~!

Great shot! :O
I bet if a feather fell on that floor it would collapse!
Still it's a wicked shot!
I think it would make a spectacular wallpaper.
Magnificent........that floor has turned into a wave rushing toward shore.........
Wow.... want to be there...
nvus, I'll hazard a poetic guess that once the interior structure does all collapse, there is likely not much in those rooms (or in the case of massive junk pileup, it's unidentifiable anyway) ...so, all those doors to the formerly stark and empty little rooms will be liberated to the sunlight.
I suppose it really IS a mental institute, now that it's crumbling to pieces AND messing up the minds of us urban voyeurs!
Galloping Gerdy.
