now this is right out of a nightmare ive had on numerous occasions. I have to pee really bad and im dreaming im in a bathroom with hundreds of toilets but no stalls :-O
Dang, those things look low to the ground.
Makes me appreciate the fact that we have the liberty to actually have private bathrooms in our homes. I worked with MR/MH people for years, and although some were severely handicapped, they at least were able to use a private bath (although sometimes with staff assistance). It is appalling to know how these folks were treated in the past ( and not even that long ago!)
I have been to places where the stalls are open for everyone to see and the conditions of filth are far worse than this. That may be where my nightmares are originating from also.
The "facilities" at military bootcamps are just like this only there are ten toilets on each side of a wall. Everyone goes at the same time and eventually it is no different than going any other time, kind of. It sure was good to get home where there are doors!!!
Again, I think it's important to remember that these weren't mixed sex bathrooms. This was the girl's bathroom, and they were all that was in here. If I had to go in front of other people, I'd rather it was like this than being a mixed sex bathroom...
BTW, are they so low because they were for children? I just realized (or paid attention to) the fact that this was a school/hospital, so there were probably youngsters around... Were there seperate facilities (bathrooms, showers/baths, etc) for the adults?
Mott, why were you hanging out in the gilr's bathroom?
Joe,
Cause Lord Motts enjoys the neat light fixtures in there!

Totally, runs and hides!
Apparently nobody here knows how it is to be locked up.
I DO ...
Of course it's the girl's bathroom. All the toilet seats are down.
weres weres WHERES THE SINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A sink right next to the toilet....how convenient.
i think that any parent who can leave their child in a place like that or on the street is mentaly sick. and how could the government let children use stuff like that. they need to change. boys are not better than girls and girls are not better than boys. everyone is equal. and i truly beleive that girls should definietly be treated a whole lot beter than that!!!!!
If the person using the restroom was a suicide risk, would YOU want there to be stall doors? As for being low to the ground, that is probably for wheelchair accesibility, another good reason not to have narrow stall walls!
Hi, Moncia,

What the hell are you talking about? I am a little corn-fused.

Thanks.
You have to understand that probably a group was taken to the bathroom and open toilets are a neccessity so you can watch everyone. You assume everyone sits there nicely and goes potty. WRONG!
Yeah - I don't quite get it either. Who said anything that was sexist in nature? What did I miss?
I've had this nightmare, too. Sometimes the toilets are missing and there is only a hole in the floor.
Looks like copper scroungers were at work in here.
Looks like a bathroom from a girl scout camp.......
Oh snap - it does! Except we always had stalls, albeit nasty ones.
Why complain here? Go to stadiums, some schools, jails, or plenty of places, and they have bathrooms like this. They even had bathrooms like these in the school where i grew up. We had to stand in a line across from the toilets to wait for one to open up.
poor kids, they may have disabilties but let them have privacy
Oh my... looks like someone dropped a big sloppy deuce on the toilet closest to the door.
This is just more photographic evidence of the way people are treated in these government run institutions. The bathrooms are almost always the same. There is very little privacy and they are so utilitarian in design and function that they help make peoples mind turn into a complete blank. Look at that toilet that is the closest to the door. The person who is using that toilet will get hit by the door every time someone comes in. These people are never treated with any kind of dignity at all.

Some day these old fat - cats who are in power will die off and a new generation will take their place and make things much better. I just wish that these old crones would just hurry up and fall dead into their bowl of soup while sitting at their oak, mahogany and teak wood dining room tables.

Is it me or do the walls look clean?
wats up with the sink
Inexcusable. No, they are NOT "wheelchair accessible." I work with wheelchair users! The stalls are open because the girls were prisoners. It wasn't for staff convenience, although even that is secondary to human rights. Interesting how disabled children are compared to prisoners, as if they should be what--grateful to have any toilets at all?
You are the first person to make use of the word "prisoners" on this page. One would think you might be looking for what you want to see and seeing what you are after.
Now this reminds me of the toilets in old army barracks. Clinical and efficient. Nothing more, nothing less.
This reminds me of where I went to 8th grade... They did have stalls, but the doors were set so small and high up that they didn't really block anything. It was awful, I don't think I used the bathroom in school more than once... I was very relieved when they switched the upper grades to a different building.
OOOh don't you know your not supposed to be in there!
agh! now i have to pee! X-<
no tp how odd
okay those look like urinals
THAT'S FORBIDDEN GROUNDS!!!!!
Are you sure this is a girls room? Look at the toilet seats. There are two types of toilet seat, ones like this and ones that are closed in the front. The ones that are open like these are for men so when we sit down our privates don't hit the seat. Since women have indoor plumbing, they get seats that are round and closed in the front. Plus, the walls aren't that hideous pink they used to always pain them. Just a thought and please don't ask why I know so much about toilet seats!
Probably much more cost efficient to just buy one set of toilet seats for the entire facility... and I won't ask why you know so much about toilet seats :-)
Uuhhh...? Yes, I may have felt a bit traumatized by the fact that when I was in 4th/5th grades, the public restroom in our hallway featured stalls with no doors...at least there were indeed partitions...and enough of a wall next to the door that provided some small privacy for the 2 stalls on that end.
No, I did not mind co-ed restrooms in college-there were stalls (with doors!) on all the toilets and double curtains on all the showers.
On the other hand, if I ever catch myself being the slightest bit suicidal, I'll think of restrooms with NO privacy, and that may very well be what keeps me from it.
im thinking a girl got her period, so her emotions were off the chart right? so she goes to the bathroom then BAM in wierd rage (cause she was already in for mental reasons) she rips the sink out, and thats where it has been ever since.........
looks like some one had dirahhreaha (spelling?) really bad (see toilet closest to door)
UGH!!!! This is just horrid...almost as bad as the potty in a jail cell. By the way Mott I found your Opacity site by accident and I have been so stuck on your work I have been sharing and using the wallpaper feature you offer to display when my computer in in time out( bad computer always misbehaves and has to be put in time out) hey might as well look at your amazing work while waiting for IT to respond!!!!
