creeeeeeeeeeeepy !! now i really have to go there
Jaysus, Motts. You sure do know how to set up a sinister shot! Ever thought of doing photography and filming for Horror movies?
Corpse grinder my azz! Looks more like an old ice cream maker. Well, maybe not. What is that thing?
ok, I gotta ask... is that you standing in the doorway?
Nope!
Okay, before I allow my goosebumps to get goosebumps..... Is it a friend of yours standing in the doorway????
Do you know who (or what) is standing in the door way or did you not even notice until you were developing your shots? what a suprise that most have been!
whoever it is has an EXTREMELY small head.
Or an extremely Large body!
Motts, was this picture taken in the kitchen by any chance? Because if it was, this looks like a motorized potato/ root vegetable peeler.
It's a tattie peeler for making chips.

/US Translation: It's an electric potato peeler for making French fries.
Ok i have to ask whats with the dude in the backround?
I am with everyone else who or what is standing in the doorway?Probably someone who was with Motts but if not that may just be a paranormal photo.
How about a potato masher? Lets get real here.
The "corpse grinder" was a joke, I suppose I need to be more clear about these things. Yes it was in the kitchen, didn't know it was a potato peeler, thanks!

The person in the doorway is someone who happened to be standing there when I took the shot... it's a woman btw.
Jill B-- Lighten up a little, lol, i'm sure the title was just a little humor.

Motts --- Then you do know who it is?
Yes, it's a friend.
Ah, the perennial fabulous hospital/asylum gadgets. They prowl the halls at night.
Back in 2001 I worked in a hospital power house. On the mid-night shift i'd walk around the building, mainly just out of sheer bordom.
The 5th floor, which was not occupied anymore, was the old pediatric ward and was said to be haunted.
Well! one night I dis-embark from the elevator, turned the corner and I swear I saw something at the end of a long hallway. This did not happen only once but on several occasions.
The figure appeared to move swiftly out of view as if it knew I was there. At first i thought of the normal stuff, someone doing the same thing as me, just roaming the halls. This wasen't so though, a key was needed to gain access via the elevator and only the charge nurse OD and engineer OD had the key.
So I called the ER to see of the OD nurse was down there and sure enough she was.

Other occasions I'd get a glimpse of a figure moving behind the boilers(they were huge) I'd walk to the area and no-one was there.
Apparently, some yrs prior a boiler tender died of a massive heart-attack and was found back behind the boilers.
I'm still spooked to this day.

So to sum up, do you believe in ghost?
I have to quote Don Marquis' cockroach, archy, from "archy & mehitabel," who said:
"you want to know whether i believe in ghosts
of course i do not believe in them
if you had known as many of them as i have
you would not believe in them either"
To answer Bob, yeah I do. I haven't physically seen one, but I've heard some things. My name being clearly whispered one night when I was reading in bed. It was so clear I turned suddenly, and of course no one was there. Even though it didn't sound like one of my parents, I went to ask them but they were both sound asleep (no siblings either.) And just recently, I've been hearing it a lot more frequently, and like a week ago, this song just started playing in my head, I've never heard it before, and it was so clear as well...it was like my brain tuned into some radio station for a short while - and all it was was a snippet. And footsteps - I distinctly hear someone walking around. All the time. My mom does too. In fact, once she asked me if my father was home yet and I said "yeah, upstairs." But he wasn't home yet. I just heard his footsteps so distinctly I could have sworn he was home. Well, this is starting to creep me out so I'll end it here for now.
I used to live in an older (1925) house. Several times, when I was downstairs, I heard footsteps and someone yell "hello" down the stairs. The first few times, I answered, and then, receiving no answer, went upstairs to see if someone had come into the kitchen from the back door. Of course (or I wouldn't be telling you this), no one would be there. I thought maybe it was one of our cats, mimicking our habitual greeting to them as we came in the backdoor, but how to explain the footsteps? I played it off as imagination for a while, but when I finally mentioned it to my wife, she related that she had heard it also. Old house? Cats? Who knows... but it was amusing and hair raising at the same time.
It's a piece of HOBART food prep equiptment
I used to work near a building like yours, Bob. The elevator was haunted. Although a key was needed it would go from the first floor, open up and then take you to the third floor without a key. The third floor, the old dormitories, were haunted so badly the nuns closed it up to regular foot traffic.

Some of the MR teens I worked with would say the elevator was run by the "elevator" man. And many of the boys would like to go to play up at the third floor with "Tony". Only, there was no "Tony" that lived on the property.
When I moved into a new house(though it was old it was new to me) I would be sleeping and i would wake to hear a faint scratching and the left foot of my bed. The odd part was that I had just moved in and my bed was in the middle of my room. So out of cuirousity I would chec what it was once I was awake it would stop after going for about 30secs and noticed i was awake. Then shortly after ticking would stop my old old TV would turn on every time 5 channels about what I turned it off at. I would turn it off and then TRY to get back to sleep. and sometimes I would triumph. Other times I would a scrathing out my room door(it lead to outside) and i would check and it would be gone and nothing there. I have moved out of that house and am fine now but i lived with that for about 6 years. I am now 15.
My house is haunted, but I knew the people when they were alive, so we're cool.

The elevators at my office used to do this too: go to random floors and open up (sometimes with very surprised people still in them!) Turns out, the machine that ran them was very old, and just needed replacing. No more ghosts in the elevators!
Yep... standard-issue corpse grinder.
Holy shit thats the same Grinder my Pizza company I work for uses to grind all the cheese!
My wife and I bought a house that is from 1909. When we moved in, I could hear laughing and talking and the clinking of plates and dishes. When I went downstairs, there was nothing there.

A few weeks later, we peeled all the ugly old wallpaper in the dining room and the noises stopped.

I spoke with the original owner's son and told him about the noised I heard. His face went white when I told him. Come to find out, his mother (who use to own the house) use to have huge dinner parties with all of her family almost every weekend.

Part of me wishes I didn't tear down the wallpaper so I could still hear those sounds.
I was thinking more of an ice cream maker, but I guess that was just my abnormally large sweet tooth chiming in.

Speaking of ghosts. The Others with Nicole Kidman.
Yup, thats yer standard corpse grinder. Looks like the Hobart '48 model... possibly '47.
whos the guy in the mirror..
holy crap, I just saw that, it must be one of motts' buddies, or maybe even him???
"I'll grind your bones to make my bread" or in this case, "I'll grind your taters to make my stew"!

I do believe in ghosts, in fact my parents home has acquired one. Many years ago we used to have this little bi**h of a white cat that used to jump on our heads and scratch us all the time. Once she got out (she was an indoor cat) and was killed by the dog next door. About two weeks later, the sightings began. Mostly you see her slipping along the hallway in the dark. She used to slip past your feet when you went to the kitchen hoping for a snack. She never appears in the part of the house that was added on since she died. Scared the hell out of my current fiancee once. After we dated for a few months he said to me "how come you hardly ever see that little white cat of yours, is it really that shy?" I said "what little white cat? We only have that big orange one". He says "The one that keeps getting under my feet in the hallway". So I said "Well, the only little white cat that we have had has been dead for five years". After that he always turned on the hall light when passing through it! People still ask about our little white cat. Most not having known previously that we even used to have one.
he is a big bloke that one in the doorway i wonder who he is
It's electric...? Then what's the go with the turning handle.
it look loke it is an industrial food mill you put fruit like apples in there and apple sauce would come out or potatoes and you would get mashed
eeeewwwwwww the paranormal investigators would love to be in a situation to see the shadow in the back ground....I'd be so gone if I saw it....gone would not be the word for it. LOL
If you actually read the comments before posting, you'd see that the figure is one of Mott's friends, of the female persuasion.
Nice scary picture.
I about fell out of my seat laughing at the title. My co-worker 2 cubes over came over to make sure I was alright. Priceless. Love the photo and love the caption even moreso
Your title on this one sure gave me a much needed chuckle......thanks!
My family moved into a new house when I was 10. We all slept in the living room for 4 nights because of remodeling. Every night I would see this small figure crawl across the floor very fast, stop by the side of my mom and dad's bed, then crawl incredibly fast up the stairs.Every morning my dad would wake up and his cigarettes would be gone. I told them what I saw but they didn't beleive me, until the past owners came by to pick up something they left behind.I overheard them telling my parents why they moved. They had a 7 year old boy who had died of cancer, and the doctors had to remove his legs at the knees and one of his arms, and that they moved because the house reminded them of their son to much.
Do ghosts exist ?
Do they run and hide when you almost see them in the dark?

What does Motts do when someone approaches him in an empty building?
maybe they are just photoheads or future time travellers , were better than an old place abandoned to base operations and get a quick bite ? hehe
Thats a Hobart Mixer, we use these at Little Caesars to mix the dough. They do got some crazy blades you can hook up in there and it would make a good corpse grinder. lol
There is so much talk of elevators that I just wanted to throw a little bit of useless information out there. The next time that you are in a hotel that has 14+ floors, notice that 9 out of 10 times there will not be a button for the 13th floor. Unsure of the reason but interesting atleast :)
Has anyone ever seen the movie "The Corpse Grinders"? The title and picture just made me remember it.
When i worked at "little ceasers pizza" when used it to make the dough and grind the cheese. the top handle you use to turn the "blade" inside to scrape the walls of cheese. there was a soft blade inside the center for the dough. on top theres another smaller knob it is used to open and look through to see if the food is done . the name on ours was called BERKLE. looks ike the one i used in the early 80's. after years of working with it i had popeye" arms....lol....which the men seemed to like... ;)
oh and the handle to the right side is to tip the bowl towards you to empty out the food or body...teehee......love your sight Motts been on here 2 days lookin at the photos, love them! I cant even remember hoe i came about it..lol..glad i did! you need a FACEBOOK page . Just a thought.... ANY THOUGHTS? catfishvic69@aol.com.
I once rode an elevator that jerked between floors, and it turned out that one of the other occupants was accidentally leaning against the button panel.
madness
Ice-cream maker might not be far off. Note the letters on the bottom of the rig. This is the logo and lettering for a company called hobart which is still in business today and all they make is commercial mixing and food prepartation machines.
Chalk me up as another believer in ghosts. Most definitely. I've too many true tales to tell here.....
looks like something out of sweeny todd
Ahhh Hobart...The Company that built Troy Ohio...
