Ahh, the usual "lonely chair" shot. :)
did you have a moment to find out what those books were? were they text books, or peices of fiction?
And the chair now has tables to keep it company!
What are all the things hanging from the ceiling?
Not sure Sean. At first, I thought <g> LIGHT fixtures.. But, there seem to be flourescent lights built into the ceiling. I can see one cover open, in the upper right corner. Looking closer, there seem to be plugs at the end of each wire. I wonder if there were cubicles set up in here at one time, and those were electrical hookups for desks...almost like an impromptu office...Maybe a shop of some kind...? Motts, do you know what this room was?
Workshop is my guess. The overhead wiring was less expensive, and made it easier for the foreman to see that no one left a soldering iron plugged in at the end of the day.
I'm pretty sure it was a kitchen.
It looks as though someone sat there for a long time and read read read!
RUN CHAIR RUN!! Motts is after you!
That's a beautiful shot. The angle, light and shade is perfect. You're a pro, mott. And my god, some of those leads look fleetingly like nooses.
yet...another lonesom chair
If indeed this was a hospital then the things hanging from the ceiling are hooks that hold IV lines:)
My secondary school had a lot of ceiling fittings like this in the Home Enconomics rooms, but were all tied up near to the ceiling & the on/off cords removed.
another lone chair! yay!
Can we definately say reminants of a life left behind? i say most definately...yikes.
